Mr. Mendelsohn began trading stocks and options in the early 1970s when he was in graduate school. This led to the founding of Market Technologies in 1979. Since then, he has served as the fi rm’s President and Chief Executive Offi cer, overseeing all aspects of the company’s phenomenal growth.

In 1980 he left hospital administration to devote his full attention to trading and applying personal computers to technical analysis. Three years later Mr. Mendelsohn introduced Profi tTaker, the fi rst commer-

cially available strategy back-testing and optimization trading software for personal computers in the fi nancial industry.

Mr. Mendelsohn was one of the fi rst professionals in the fi nancial industry to recognize the emerging trend toward globalization of the world's economy and fi nancial markets in the mid-1980s and again broke new ground in the fi eld of technical analysis when he developed Trader, the fi rst commercially available intermarket analysis trading software for personal computers in the fi nancial industry.

Building on his extensive research since the mid-1980s involving intermarket analysis applied to global market data and trend forecast- ing, in 1991 Mr. Mendelsohn released the fi rst version of VantagePoint Intermarket Analysis Software, which uses a highly sophisticated mathematical tool known as neural networks to analyze the effects of multiple global markets on each other and make short-term market forecasts.

Since then, Mr. Mendelsohn's research has continued to focus on the global fi nancial markets, the application of intermarket analy- sis to global market data, and how to use this information to make highly accurate, short-term market forecasts. Mr. Mendelsohn has written extensively since 1983 in many prominent fi nancial publica- tions including Barron's, Futures, and Technical Analysis of Stocks

& Commodities. He has been widely quoted in the fi nancial media including the Wall Street Journal and Investor's Business Daily, has collaborated with other technical analysis experts on more than half a dozen books on technical analysis, and has been interviewed live on national radio and television, including CNN, Bloomberg Television, and CNBC. Mr. Mendelsohn’s fi rst book on intermarket analysis, Trend Forecasting with Intermarket Analysis, was published in December 2000. His second book, Forex Trading Using Intermarket Analysis, was released in March 2006.
