The Rainier Terrace Sub-basin consists of approximately 9,710 acres, of which 1,118 acres is designated as Rural Service Area and is located in unincorporated Pierce County. It is bounded to the west by the Tacoma Eastern Railroad and Canyon Road East, to the extreme north by 160th Street East, to the extreme south by 212th Street East and to the east by the Comprehensive Urban Growth Boundary. The size and linear footage of mains in this sub-basin is identified in the table below and is graphically represented in Figure 5.16-1.

Existing Collection System Rainier Terrace Interceptor (Sunrise)
The Rainier Terrace Interceptor consists of 43,784 lineal feet of 15 to 36-inch gravity sewer. The interceptor begins at 180th Street East and Canyon Road East, then proceeds to the southeast where it reaches 204th Street East, continues east to 86th Avenue East, turns north to 192nd Street East, then heads northwesterly to SR161, proceeds north along SR161 to Sunrise Boulevard and then follows Sunrise Boulevard to the east where it terminates at Sunrise Parkway.
The interceptor was constructed as part of the Frederickson ULID 87-1 Phase II project (1989); Rainier Terrace ULID 89-1 Schedule I (1990/1991), Schedule II (1991) and Schedule III (1992) projects. It serves nearly the entire Rainier Terrace sub-basin. Portions of the interceptor are over 50 feet deep. The flows from the interceptor discharge to the Frederickson Interceptor (Frederickson Sub-basin).
Boeing Trunk
The Boeing Trunk consists of 5,441 lineal feet of 18-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at Frederickson Industrial Park Road East and 184th Street East and proceeds east along 184th Street East where it then intersects with the looped Frederickson Industrial Park Road East and proceeds to the northwest where it intersects with 63rd Avenue East and follows 63rd Avenue East to where it terminates at 176th Street East and 63rd Avenue East.
This trunk sewer was constructed as part of the Frederickson ULID 87-1 Phase II project in 1989. It serves the Boeing property located in the northwest section of the sub-basin and discharges to the Rainier Interceptor.
Gem Heights Trunk
The Gem Heights Trunk consists of 4,338 lineal feet of 18-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at approximately 184th Street East and 90th Avenue East and then proceeds north until it ends at 86th Avenue East and 176th Street East. This pipeline was constructed as part of the Lyndehurst III/Rainier Vista SWLE
#171507 in 1994. It serves the north central portion of the sub-basin and discharges to the Rainier Interceptor.
Graham Trunk
The Graham Trunk consists of 6,269 lineal feet of 18-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at 180th Street East and SR161 and then proceeds south, paralleling SR161 to where it terminates at 196th Street East. The Graham Trunk was constructed as part of the Lipoma Firs SWLE #142240 and Evergreen Ridge SWLE #227832 extension projects in 1995 and 1997 respectively. It serves the southeastern portion of the sub-basin and discharges to the Rainier Interceptor.
176th Street East Trunk
The 176th Street East Trunk consists of 6,951 lineal feet of 15 to 18-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at 176th Street East and 63rd Avenue East and terminates at 176th Street East at 83rd Avenue East. It serves the southwestern portion of the sub-basin and discharges to the Rainier Terrace Interceptor.
122nd Avenue East Trunk – Developer Extension
The 122nd Avenue East Trunk consists of 3,456 lineal feet of 15 to 16-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at 122nd Avenue East and Sunrise Boulevard and terminates at 122nd Avenue East at 164th Street East; it serves the properties to the north of Sunrise Boulevard and south of Sunrise Parkway East. The flow discharges to the Rainier Terrace Interceptor.
Sunrise Trunk
The Sunrise Trunk consists of 1,385 lineal feet of 18-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at 122nd Avenue East and Sunrise Boulevard and terminates just east of 122nd Avenue East and 180th Street East. It serves the central portions of the Sunrise Master Plan Community. The flow discharges to the Rainier Terrance Interceptor.
94th Avenue East Trunk – Developer Extension
The 94th Avenue East Trunk consists of 530 lineal feet of 16-inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at the Foxbury Pump Station (just north of the intersection of 94th Avenue East and 203rd Street East) and terminates at 94th Avenue East at 204th Street East. The flow discharges into the Foxbury Pump Station.
Foxbury Park Interceptor – Developer Extension
The Foxbury Park Interceptor consists of 1,324 lineal feet of 8-inch force main and 4,325 lineal feet of 15- inch gravity collector sewer. The trunk begins at 86th Avenue East and 192nd Street East and proceeds southeast to its termination at the Foxbury Park Pump Station just north of the intersection of 94th Avenue East and 203rd Street East. The flow discharges to the Rainier Terrance Interceptor.
Hansen Estates Force Main – Developer Extension
The Hansen Estates Force Main consists of 1,150 lineal feet of 8-inch force main. The force main begins at the intersection of 176th Street East and 70th Avenue East and terminates just to the north of the intersection of 70th Avenue East and 179th Avenue Court East. The flow discharges to the 176th Street East Trunk.
Sunrise Force Main – Developer Extension
The Sunrise Force Main consists of 2,853 lineal feet of 12-inch force main. The force main begins ~1,900 feet west of the intersection of 122nd Avenue East and Sunrise Boulevard and proceeds south through easements to its termination at the Sunrise Pump Station located ~700 feet southwest of the intersection of 122nd Avenue East and 184th Street East. The flow discharges to the Rainier Terrance Interceptor.
