I. WARM UP • T introduces the topic.
• Asks the students.
Do you live in the city or in the countryside?
Have you ever been to the countryside?
• Has Ss to tell some things that they have in the city?
• Some groups make a list of the differences between the countryside and the city.
II.PRESENTATION • T shows a picture ( a village in the country) and introduces the dialogue “Hoa and Na are talking about life in the country”
• T asks questions about the dialogue.
- Where did Na go?
- What are Hoa and Na talking about?
( The differences : country life in the old day / present) – city life
• Ss listen to the tape + listen & repeat
• T introduces the new words.

1. Practice the dialogue with a partner.
2. Students ask & answer questions (p.37) ( T: corrects the mistakes)

- Each student write a one-sentence description of a classmate on a piece of paper, without giving the name of the person being described. ( Example: She is wearing red sandals and has shorter hair than

- Take turns reading the descriptions aloud. The other student try to guess who is being described.
IV.CONSOLIDATION • Pair work – students describe the picture (p.72). (Remember using Present progressive tense.) List some words describe about city life # country life.
VI/ Homework:
• Write 5 sentences, using Pre. Progressive Tense

By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to produce a conversation about the changes in a town and their hometown or talk about the differences between a city and a countryside. Ss understand and complete the conversation and make a similar phone call.
