The following table shows the stripping force of the individual gas spring pairs and the maximum stripping
force when using all the gas spring pairs The maximum stripping force for other combinations (e.g
perma-nent + second option) can be calculated by totalling the individual forces The stripping forces stated apply to the working direction of the slide.
* the additional weight of the client tooling is not included
** only effective in the last 20 mm of slide travel
*** total of all gas spring packages (permanent + option 1 + option 2)
Example 1:
selected: 600 mm working width, 15° working angle, 150 kg calculated weight on the working surface,
1.4 kN calculated required stripping force
sought: suffi cient stripping force
At 15° working angle the required stripping force for 100 kg weight is 0.43 kN => At 150 kg weight
0.43 kN x 1.5 = 0.65 kN is required for resetting Maximum stripping force at 15° working angle with
permanent gas spring package is 4.8 kN 4.8 kN – 0.65 kN = 4.15 kN This value exceeds the required
stripping force so that there is no need to use the optional gas spring package in this application.
Example 2:
selected: 600 mm working width, 50° working angle, 300 kg calculated weight o on the working surface,
14 kN calculated required stripping force
sought: suffi cient stripping force.
At 50° working angle the required stripping force for 100 kg weight is 0.38 kN => At 300 kg weight
0.38 kN x 3 = 1.14 kN is required for resetting Maximum stripping force at 50° working angle with
permanent gas spring package is 4.1 kN 4.1 kN – 1.14 kN = 2.96 kN residual stripping force
14 kN – 2.96 kN = 11.04 kN, still required Option 1 gas spring package is required At 50° this package
has a stripping force of 29.2 kN, so that a total stripping force of 29.2 kN + 2.96 kN = 32.16 kN is available.

Example 1:
selected: 700 mm working width, 15° working angle, 180 kg calculated weight on the working surface,
1.4 kN calculated required stripping force
sought: suffi cient stripping force
At 15° working angle the required stripping force for 100 kg weight is 0.43 kN => At 180 kg weight
0.43 kN x 1.8 = 0.77 kN is required for resetting Maximum stripping force at 15° working angle with
permanent gas spring package is 4.6 kN 4.6 kN – 0.77 kN = 3.83 kN This value exceeds the required
stripping force so that there is no need to use the optional gas spring package in this application.
Example 2:
selected: 700 mm working width, 50° working angle, 370 kg calculated weight o on the working surface,
25 kN calculated required stripping force
sought: suffi cient stripping force.
At 50° working angle the required stripping force for 100 kg weight is 0.38 kN => At 370 kg weight
0.38 kN x 3.7 = 1.4 kN is required for resetting Maximum stripping force at 50° working angle with
permanent gas spring package is 4 kN 4 kN – 1.4 kN = 2.6 kN residual stripping force
2.6 kN – 25 kN = -22.4 kN, still required Option 1 gas spring package is required At 50° this package
has a stripping force of 29.2 kN, so that a total stripping force of 29.2 kN + 2.6 kN = 31.8 kN is available.
The following table shows the stripping force of the individual gas spring pairs and the maximum stripping force when using all the gas spring pairs The maximum stripping force for other combinations (e.g perma-nent + second option) can be calculated by totalling the individual forces The stripping forces stated apply to the working direction of the slide.
