I.Aims: understand how to ask and answer questions about school facilities

II.Objectives:

- By the end of this lesson, students will be to ask and answer questions about school facilities

- Develop listening, reading and writing skill

III Teaching methods:

- Communicative method

- Techniques: + Work in pairs and individually

+ Ask and answer

+ Work in groups, discuss

IV.Teaching aids:

- Teacher’s aids: pictures, word cards, audio, puppets, flashcards,projector

- Student’s aids: book, notebook, workbook

V.Language focus: Is the + school facility + adj?

VI.Procedures:

I Warm up :

-Ask ss sing and dance the song “ This is

the way we go to school”

-Play game:read the sentence

-Guide how to play: “ Call some ss and

read word for ss to remember their

word.Then T ask each ss read their word

order sentence,and then all ss read the

sentence in chorus

-T remark and add flower for the winner

II New lesson

4.Listen and number

-Give 4 pictures and ask: Where is it?

- Sing and dance Work in pairs

-Play in groups:

Group1:

s1(Is) ,s2(your) ,s3(classroom), s4(big)

s5(yes), s6(it), s7(is) Group 2:

S1( That) ,s2(is) ,s3(my) ,s4(school) S5(That), s2( is), s3(the), s4 (library) Group3:

S1(Is), S2(the), S3(gym) ,S4(old) S5(No), S6(it isn’t), S7(It’s), S8( new)

- Look at Pictures and answer: school, classroom,gym,library

-Introduce: “ Now we’re going to listen

and number the pictures

- Ask Ss tolook at the screen ,listen to the

recording and write the number into the

box below each picture

- 1st:Play the recording all the way

through for Ss to listen and

number

- 2nd: play the recording and pause

each sentence for Ss to check their

answer

- Have Ss trade their answers in

pairs for correction

- Ask ss to go to the board and

arrange the pictures in order

- 3rd: play the recording for Ss to

check their answers

Answers: 1 – 2- 3- 4

5.Read and circle

Pre-reading :

- T gives pictures and ask ss to call the

names

- T introduces the topic “you are going

to read the text about school and the

rooms of the school and then get the

information in order to do the task

below”

While-reading :

- 1st reading: T read model

- Listen to the recording and write the number into the box

-Listen and number

- Listen again and check their answer

- Trade their answers in pairs

- Listen one more time

- Look at the pictures

-Call the names:

school,classroom,library,gym, computer room

- Listen to T

-Ss listen

- Ask ss to circle in their book

- Monitor the activity and offer help

when necessary

- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for

correction

 T gives the cards of the sentences

for some ss circle the answers

*Post-reading:

- Ask ss match the cards with the pictures

6.Write about your school

- Ss read the questions and understand

how to write the answer

- Have Ss to work in pairs to do the

front of the class

My school is big.

The computer room is old

The gym is large

The library is big.

- Write all into their notebooks

Have the whole class repeat all the

phrases to reinforce their pronunciation

III Consolidation:

Learn all vocabulary, practice more

Do exercises in the workbook

-2nd reading: Ss read the sentences individually

- Ss do the task

-Trade the answers in pairs

-Go to the board and circle

- Others look and comment

-SS go to the board and match

-Read the text again and check their answer

-Read each sentence

- Read the questions and understand how to write the answer

- Work in pairs to do the exercise

- Demonstrate at the front of the class

-Copydown their notebooks
