II Grammar:
1) Cách hỏi hôm nay là ngày mấy và trả lời:
Miss Thuan: What is the date today? => (?) What is the date today?
Huy : It’s the first of October => (+) It’s the + ngày (số thứ tự) + of + tháng
2) Cách hỏi ai đó sinh nhật khi nào và trả lời:
Nghị: When is your birthday? => (?) When is + TTSH/N’s + birthday?
the the + ngày (số thứ tự) + of + tháng
3) Câu cảm thán: What a nice cake! => What +(a/an) + adj + N(_s)
Để viết ngày tháng năm, người Anh viết theo dạng:
Thứ , Tháng Ngày (Số thứ tự), Năm
Ví dụ: Monday, November 21st, 1992 (Thứ Hai ngày 21 tháng Mười Một năm 1992)
Saturday, June 14th, 1982 (Thứ 7, ngày 14 tháng 6 năm 1982)
Để đọc số ghi năm không đọc theo cách đọc số bình thường mà bốn chữ số được chia đôi để đọc Ví dụ: 1992 = 19 và 92 = nineteen ninety two; 1880 = 18 và 80 = eighteen
eighty; 2014 = 20 + 14 = twenty fourteen
Để hỏi về ngày tháng ta dùng câu hỏi: What’s the date today? (Hôm nay ngày mấy?)
Cách dùng giới từ chỉ thời gian: at, on, in
1 Dùng at:
Để chỉ thời gian trong ngày: at 5 o’clock, at 11.45, at midnight(lúc nửa đêm), at
sunset(lúc hoàng hôn)
o Một số thành ngữ: at the weekend: cuối tuần; at Christmas: lễ giáng sinh; at night: vào ban đêm
o at the moment / at present: vào lúc này; at the same time: cùng lúc
2 Dùng on:
Để nói về các thứ: on Monday, on Sunday…
Để nói về ngày: on 16 May 1999, on 14 June 1982, on my birthday…
o Các buổi của thứ (mấy): on Friday moring: sáng thứ 6; on Sunday evening: tối chủ
nhật: I’ll see you on Sunday evening.
3 Dùng in:
o Để chỉ 1 khoảng thời gian dài: in October: vào tháng 10; in 1982: năm 1982; in the 18th century: vào thế kỉ 18; in the 1990s: những năm 1990……

Số đếm (cardinal numbers) – 1 (one), 2 (two) …Dùng cho mục đích chính đếm số
lượng Thường được dùng khi:
1 Đếm số lượng:
I have thirteen books: Tôi có 13 quyển sách
There are ten people in the room: Có 10 người trong phòng
2 Tuổi: I am fifty years old: Tôi 50 tuổi
3.Số điện thoại:
My phone number is two-six-three, three-eight-four-seven (263-3847): Số điện thoại của tôi là 263 3487
4 Năm sinh:
She was born in nineteen eighty-nine: Cô ấy sinh năm 1989
America was discovered in fourteen ninety-two: Châu Mỹ được phát hiện năm 1492
Lưu ý : Chúng ta chia năm ra từng cặp, ví dụ năm 1975 được đọc là nineteen seventy-five Quy
tắc này áp dụng cho đến năm 1999
Từ năm 2000 chúng ta phải nói two thousand (2000), two thousand and one (2001),…
Lưu ý:
Thay vì nói One Hundred, bạn có thể nói A hundred Ví dụ số 123 được đọc là one hundred and twenty-three hoặc a hundred and twenty-three
Quy tắc tương tự áp dụng cho một nghìn (a thousand) và một triệu (a million)
Nhưng không được nói two thousand a hundred and fifty (2,150) mà phải nói two
thousand one hundred and fifty
Bạn cần sử dụng dấu gạch ngang (hyphen -) khi viết số từ 21 đến 99
Đối với những số lớn, người Mỹ thường sử dụng dấy phẩy (comma ,) để chia từng nhóm ba số Ví dụ: 2000000 (2 million) thường được viết là 2,000,000
II Số thứ tự(ordinal numbers) – 1st (first), 2nd (second) …Dùng để xếp hạng, tuần tự.
Số thứ tự được hình thành từ số đếm bằng cách thêm TH vào cuối số đếm Ngoài trừ ba số thứ tự
đầu tiên: first, second, third….4th – fourth 5th – fifth
Những cách dùng chủ yếu của số thứ tự:
1 Xếp hạng:
Manchester City came first in the football league last year: Manchester City trở thành đội bóng số 1 năm ngoái
2 Số tầng trong một tòa nhà:
His office is on the nineth floor: Văn phòng của anh ấy ở tầng 19
3 Ngày sinh nhật:
She had a huge party for her eighteenth birthday: Cô ấy có 1 bữa tiệc sinh nhật lớn trong lần sinh nhật thứ 18
