I Objective

- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to recognize the /k/ and /d/ sounds

Vocabulary: Cc, cap.

- Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing skills

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids

1 Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector, TV.

2 Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

1 Warm up (5’)

“Unscramble”

- Divide the class into small groups and give

each group a mini-board

- Show the unscramble words and ask the

groups to write the correct answers on the

mini-boards E.g okbo -> book

- The group with more correct words in shorter

time will be the winner

The alphabet (5’)

- T plays the alphabet song and asks Ss to listen

- T plays the CD again and sing the song

- T put the flashcards on the board for the letters

in red (c and d)

- T point to each flashcard, call out the letter's

name and asks Ss to repeat

2 New lesson

*Activity 1 Listen and repeat Trace (10’)

- T asks Ss to look at the letter.

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen and repeat

all together and individually

The alphabet

1 Listen and point, repeat

- T correct Ss’s pronunciation if necessary.

- T calls some Ss demonstrate the activity in

front of the class

- T asks Ss to call out the letter sound.

- T demonstrate the steps of tracing the letters

with your finger

front of the class

- T asks Ss to look at the picture, letter and

word

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen and point

to the letter and word as they hear

- T asks Ss to listen and repeat all together and

individually Correct Ss’s pronunciation

- T calls some Ss demonstrate the activity in

front of the class

*Activity 3 Sing (5’)

- T asks Ss to look at the lyrics and pictures

- T read the lyrics as a whole class

- T play the CD and asks Ss to listen and point

at the letters/words

- T asks Ss to listen and sing along

- T asks Ss to sing and make a gesture (of a

cap)

- T asks Ss to sing and make the gesture in front

of the class

*Activity 4 Listen and hop (5’)

- T demonstrate the activity

- T asks Ss to stand up

- T asks Ss to hop when they hear the 'c' sound

- T calls some Ss to demonstrate the activity in

front of the class
