With the danger of working with electricity, accidents are very likely without caution A simple mistake of

inappropriate wiring, grounding failure, missing an exposed part, or damaged tools can have serious

consequences, from shocks to explosions.

risks.

Therefore, the responsibility to protect the health and safety of workers must be taken care of by both the managers and the

employees directly working.

Under the Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) workers and employers share responsibility for occupational health and safety This concept of an internal responsibility system is based on the principle that workplace parties are in the best position to identify health and safety problems and to develop solutions.

Know about any unsafe conditions or hazardous

materials used in the workplace.

Participate in making their workplace safe.

Refuse unsafe work.

Workers also have the responsibility to:

Work safely and not take risks.

Report unsafe conditions.

Ask their employers about concerns regarding health and safety.

Employers have the most responsibility for ensuring a safe

and healthy workplace and must:

Keep a safe and well-maintained workplace.

Provide hazard information, proper safety equipment,

training, and competent supervision.

Have worker representation for health and safety.

Follow proper procedures in case of injury.

 Supervisors have the responsibility to provide:

A safe workplace and assign safe work.

Training and information.

Supervision.

Responsibilities in the electric industry

a Manager responsibilities

•. Develop occupational health and safety policies that are relevant to the electricity industry and ensure that these comply with the law.

•. Conduct risk assessments to determine what could harm the staff about both physical risk and mental health such as pressure when working in the electricity industry or what workplace risks exist.

•. Use the risk assessment to put in place anything needed to reduce the risks.  Training, special clothing, safety equipment, break out spaces to relax in or a counseling service could all be really helpful at cutting the risks of things going wrong.

•. Provide a full range of protective equipment for employees when working such as special clothes, hats, shoes, and full registration of employee insurance.

•. Organize regular training for workers on working safety and regularly check that employees comply with safety requirements when working in the electricity industry.

•. Perform periodic health checks for employees to ensure the health of employees while working

Therefore, detailed instructions are required at the workplace.

Moreover, employees and employers have responsibilities to follow those instruction in order to maintain safe working environment and protect other’s health and safety
