Animation traditionally is done by hand- drawing or painting successive frame of

an object, each slightly different than the proceeding frame In computer animation, although the computer may be the one to draw the different frames, in most cases theartist will draw the beginning and ending frames and the computer will produce thedrawings between the first and the last drawing This is generally referred to as computer-assisted animation, because the computer is more of a helper than an originator

In full computer animation, complex mathematical formulas are used to produce thefinal sequences of pictures These formulas operate on extensive databases of numbersthat defines the objects in the pictures as they exist in mathematical space The database

consists of endpoints, and color and intensity information Highly trained professionalsare needed to produce such effects because animation that obtains high degrees of realism

involves computer techniques from three- dimensional transformation, shading, andcurvatures.

High- tech computer animation for film involves very expensive computer systemsalong with special color terminals or frame buffers The frame buffer is nothing morethan a giant image memory for viewing a single frame It temporarily holds the image fordisplay on the screen

A camera can be used to film directly from the computer’s display screen, but for thehighest quality images possible, expensive film recorders are used The computercomputers the position and colors for the figures in the picture, and sends thisinformation to the recorder, which captures it on film Sometimes, however, the images

are stored on a large magnetic disk before being sent to the recorder Once this process iscompleted, it is replaced for the next frame When the entire sequence has been recorded

on the film, the film must be developed before the animation can be viewed If the entiresequence does not seem right, the motions must be corrected recomputed, redisplayed, and rerecorded This approach can be very expensive and time- consuming Often,computer- animation companies first do motion tests with simple computer- generatedline drawings before selling their computers to the task of calculating the high- resolution,realistic- looking images

Question 36 What aspect of computer animation does the passage mainly discuss?

A The production procession B The equipment needed

Question 37: According to the passage, in computer- assisted animation the role of the

computer is to draw the…………

high-tech animation are determined by…………

A drawing several version C analyzing the sequence from different angles

Trang 6

B enlarging one frame at a lime D create new frames

Question 41: The word “capture” in the fourth paragraph is closest in meaning

to…………

Question 42: According to the passage, how do computer- animation companies often

D They developed extensive mathematical formulas

If a man and a woman are born and raised in the same country, most likely they arefamiliar with the same songs, movies, jokes, books and life in general They basicallyhave the same roots In the case of a western man and foreign woman family everything

is more complicated and requires much more patience and understanding from both

spouses On one hand, each of the partners has an opportunity to learn a great deal aboutthe other's country, culture, traditions and life styles which can be very interesting On theother hand, it can be very disappointing if there is the inability to understand yourpartner's excitements andfrustrations For example, you are watching the television and

suddenly you see a famous actor or singer, or other type of an artist whose name youhave grown up with Maybe this artist was an idol for your parents and the music of thisartist was often played in your house when you were a child Unfortunately you realizethat your wife is unable to understand your feelings because she has no idea who thisartist is Her eyes are absolutely empty because she has never even heard the song before. You feel rather disappointed! Remember that your wife has the same situation with you.You do not know her country's songs, her country's famous actors, her books She has herown memories and in actuality, for her, everything is much more difficult than it is foryou At least, you live in your own country where everybody can understand you Shelives in completely strange surroundings, where she has nobody to share her feelings with, except you
