The present simple is used to

- say that something happens repeatedly.

- say something is true in general

Uses:

Contrast: present simple and present progressive tense.

Form: (+) S + V/ V(- es/ s) (+) S + am/is/are + V-ing

(?) Do/Does + S + V?

(-) S+ am/is/are+not+V-ing

Uses:

The present simple is used to

say that something happens

repeatedly.

- say something is true in general

The present progressive is used

to talk about something that is happening at the time of

speaking.
