UNIT 13: FESTIVALS

Lesson 2: SPEAK

I OBJECTIVES:

Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice talking about preparations for Tet

II PREPARATIONS : Book, cassette tape

III PROCEDURES:

1 Warm – Up: (5’)

- Ask Ss to think of 5 things they often do to prepare

for Tet and write them down on a piece of paper

2 Pre – Speaking: (8’)

- Have Ss think of some things they often do to prepare

for Tet

+ decorate the house

+ clean the house

+ pain the house

+ clean the yard

+ buy cakes, candies, drinks, food, fruits, …

+ cook / make cakes

+ buy new dress …

+ write and send New Year cards to friends/ relatives

- Ask Ss to read the dialogue and put the sentences in

the correct order

3 While – Speaking: (15’)

- Ask Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs

- Call some Ss to practice the dialogue

- Ask Ss to choose one of the festivals on the page 123,

and make up their own dialogue

- Call some pairs to demonstrate their dialogues
