Unit 1: MY NEW SCHOOL Period 1 - Lesson 1: Getting started A-

The aims and requests:

- Student know, understand and practice with

+ Vocabulary: School things and activities

+ Pronunciation: Sound / ∂u / and //

+ Grammar: The present simple and the present continuous

- By the end of the lesson sts will be able to read , listen and talk specific information about school things corectly and fluently.They also can create some short role-plays using school things and activities

* Develop all four skills

1 Teacher: Lesson plan, cassette, CD, textbook,…

2 Students: Prepare the lesson at home

C Procedures:

I/ Organization: (1’)-Greetings

- Good morning.How are you ?

- What is the weather like?

- Who is absent today?

- How do you feel on the first day of the new school?

- Do you have many friends in this school?

2 Checking up : (4’)

- Asks sts to introduce something about themselves

Ex: Hello, My name is Lan I am 11 years old I come from Chua Hang I am glad to be here with you

3 New lesson(36’)

* Activity 1: Pre-teach vocabulary

-Teacher elicits new vocabulary by using the

following techniques:

- Check vocab: matching

* Activity 2

- Writes the word “A special day” on the board

and asks sts why it is a speacial day

- Introduces the pictures and the situation and

asks sts to guess how they feel on the first day

- Asks sts to do part a ( T may ask sts to tell

which sentences they base on for information)

- Asks sts to find out the expressions in the

conversation and explain their meaning

Period 2: LESSON 2 - A CLOSER LOOK 1

I THE AIM AND OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson sts can:

- distinguish and pronoun sounds: /∂u/ & /Λ/

- use and remember the new words that relate to school topic and the words have sounds:/

u/&/Λ/

-.do some exercises focusing on intensive practice of vocab and pronunciation

* Language content:

- Vocabulary: Vocabulary, homework, history, lessons, science…

- Grammar: Present simple tense and Present continuous tense

II PREPARATION

- Teacher: Text book, pictures, poster, lesson plan

- Students: Text book, tools for learning

III CHECKING UP THE OLD LESSON (8’)

Write the name of the school things:

Compass (n), pencil sharpener (n), pencil box/ case (n), calculator (n), text book (n), eraser/ rubber (n), uniform (n)…

IV PROCEDUCE (35 )

Warm up:

Net work Find out the words which have sounds: /∂u/

& /Λ/

T: devides the class into 2 teams

Sts: prepare in 1 min, do in 2 mins

T: Checks and lets sts read again

Asks sts to open their book at page 8 Look

at Activity 6: Listen to the words and put

them into two groups.

- T: Asks sts to read the list of word then put
