1 INTRODUCTION
1.1 The reason for choosing the topic
In recent years, the reality of education quality has always been a topicalissue of interest to many levels of education management, teachers as well asparents Especially, from 2020, the program of replacing textbooks for grade 1and grade 6 has been left, leaving many questions for researchers, educationmanagers, and many concerns for teachers, students and parents
From the reality of the quality of education, major campaigns have beenlaunched and implemented Experimental education programs are studied andimplemented in many localities; The innovation of teaching methods is carriedout deeply and widely in each educational institution and is considered one ofthe important solutions in improving the quality of education
However, changing the quality of education has not been synchronized andclear There are many factors that affect the quality of education, in which theimplementation of innovative teaching methods towards learners has aparticularly important role
One of the important highlights in the learner-centered teaching method is theteaching of using games; By teaching through games will create a livelyatmosphere in the classroom, help students be more active in performing tasksand comprehending knowledge, enhance communication, exchange, cooperationand help Students' interactions help students to form and practice theiracademic and life skills, while enabling teachers to work as mentors andcounselors for students
With the merits of games teaching, learning through games is very suitablefor the characteristics of English in general and teaching English in secondaryschools, because this is a heavy vocabulary, difficult to grammar, rightassociated with communication Concerned about how students can actively andinterestingly implement the task of learning comprehension knowledge, meet thesubject's listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, especiallycommunication skills
In fact that, we have used foreign games in our lessons such as : Bingo, slapthe board, noughts and crosses ,lucky numbers or matching, and so on…Becausethese games are used many times, students can feel boring. Thus, I wonder whichother games will help lessons become more exciting As we know Viet Nam isrich in traditional fold games In personal belief that although our life isbecoming more modern, the value of tradition is never out of date It would be
Trang 2better and more necessary If we can preserve and bring into the nation’s culture
in morden life During my teaching, I learned to apply some traditional folkgames in teaching and achieved important results through every study
Each school has different conditions so there will also be different ways inthe process of organizing games activities in teaching English But I also boldlypresent some measures to organize traditional folk games in my own Englishteaching at secondary schools to help improve students’interest through the

2.1 The theoretical foundation of the experience.
In the past years, the more modern the life is,the more the traditional folkgames has been affected These games has been ignored or disappeared because
of appearance of new games These new games are modern games with technology which have made people addicted especially young generations. These new games may replace traditional folk games or make them be in risk ofbeing lost.Besides, these modern games are unsuitable for Viet Namesepeople’culture as well as physical condition Therefore, recently our governmentand citizents have cared in preserving and bringing into the nation’s culture inmorden life much more And it would be better If we try our best to make thenation’s culture better in modern life
In foreign language teaching, this view is more and more correct Apart fromusing foreigner games such as bingo, hang man…… traditional folk games inEnglish lessons plays an important role The traditional folk games such as:’Oan tu ti”, “blindman’s bluff”… , will help to improve students ‘interest areeffective and useful These games can be used to review or learn new words, grammar , listening …….Students will be interest in learning English and Ithelps students be more active in performing tasks and comprehendingknowledge, enhance communication
