Trang 31 Introduction
1.1 The reason for choosing the topic
English is the language which is used most by many countries, it hasbecome the native language of many countries, it is also the language ofcommunication in community around the world
"Speaking" is one of the four important skills in teaching English topractice communicating quickly and effectively
High school students are still weak in four skills: Listening, Speaking,Reading, and Writing Especially, they are extremely afraid of speaking Englishduring class due to many different reasons such as: embarrassment, hesitation,large classrooms, teachers have less time to practice skills for each student.Organizing good speaking practice will help to overcome the above limitations.Speaking skills help students to have more conditions to practice in a class.Realizing the principles in each language learning hour: Review old - practicenew All new knowledge is evoked gradually from the knowledge learned in theprevious lesson, making students not afraid of the new lesson
While practicing, students can learn from each other, correct each other'smistakes, and freely speak without being afraid of the teacher
Through the practice of saying that students absorb knowledge actively,overcoming the inhibition when only a few good students participate inspeaking, thus attracting all students in the class to participate Activities includemoderate or weak students
Enhance the behavior of students in different situations, causingexcitement, confidence, and boldness for students when practicingcommunication in English Classes will be fun, exciting and effective
As a teacher directly teaching in junior high school, I have researched,learned, read reference materials and through the media, I have drawn for myselfsome experience in teaching methods The teaching questions make myspeaking hours more effective From the requirements of the subject andpractical teaching, I would like to boldly present the experience initiative

experienced initiative to improve student’s english speaking skills in grade 7"
as the foundation for grade 8.9 of the The next year
1.2 Research purposes
As a teacher of English at middle school, I myself constantly research,actively, actively innovate teaching methods to improve the quality of teachingand learning I am writing this topic to share my little experience with mycolleagues on different types of speaking skills for 7th graders to contribute toimproving knowledge and quality of English subjects in school

1.3 Research subjects
Due to the fact that I teach and learn English from my school's teachers andstudents, this topic is limited to grade 7 according to English book program 7and students of Trung Thanh Secondary School for Education and Training

2.1 Basis for argument
Speaking skills are one of the important skills in learning any foreignlanguage If learners use this skill proficiently and fluently, this skill will makethem very excited and confident in their immediate and future learning Helpthem overcome the barriers of psychological inhibition when communicatingwith friends, teachers, strangers or foreigners and, especially, confidence whenspeaking in public whether it is speaking a foreign language or language mothertongue Through teaching English in primary schools, I realize the generalsituation is that most rural students have little opportunity to access and practiceforeign languages, so most of them are still a little surprised when approachingthe subject and Not realizing the importance of learning English, so in thelearning process, they still do not pay high attention to the lesson with highresults
So how do students master that skill? Is it the gift that each student has, ordoes the student practice that skill every day to acquire? As a new teacher ofEnglish in junior high school, I have been pondering over, accumulatedexperience from myself and colleagues to find the best method of teachingspeaking skills Application that asks students to use the language learned incommunication effectively In today's seminar, from the bottom of my heart, Iwould like to share with you delegates, teachers and colleagues about effectivemethods of teaching English speaking skills for primary school students
To achieve the lesson objectives, the teacher must apply many effectivemethods in teaching and learning activities in class In which, the method ofpracticing speaking skills is indispensable in every foreign language lesson
In the teaching process, the application of teaching methods to guidestudents in acquiring knowledge quickly, making the best use of that knowledge
is a big problem for cultural subjects in general and English subjects in
Trang 5particular The education sector of Van Lam district has been and will activelywork towards the perfection of innovative teaching methods For thedevelopment of speaking skills, take the language or topic as a speaking unit andtake before speaking, while speaking (while-speaking) and after speaking (Post-speaking) as a rule standard program to practice the content and languageneeded for students to be able to speak a certain topic after a speaking class Inaddition, in order for students to have more opportunities to communicate inEnglish at a basic level and gradually develop the ability to use the language, theteacher must let students practice speaking in classes of other skills, in Languageknowledge lessons or more simply, when warming up the classroom atmosphere(Warm - up), at oral test or just when teachers and students respond normally inthe classroom All of these are very important in order to improve the qualityand efficiency of the teaching process.
2.2 The reality of the problem
2.2.1 The situation of students
In recent years, according to new programs, textbooks, new methods inteaching and learning, especially when teachers' lectures are written on livelyand attractive PowerPoint presentation software, many students are verysuccessful love the subject, be more active in all activities However, there arestill many weak students While learning to speak English, they face manyobstacles: facing the teacher, the feeling of difficulty in expressing the language,the fear of making mistakes, the fear of being criticized by the teacher, theembarrassment of speaking first Classmates, especially when they lack manyelements to speak effectively and confidently In addition to being asked by ateacher to talk about a topic, children often have no intention of expressing,although at times students have some ready-made ideas, when asked to speak itappears that they have ready So when saying something in English, they oftenfeel compelled to speak and therefore have no real communication This meansthat students will have very little time and opportunity to speak In addition,when students speak English and Vietnamese, the natural tendency is that theywill use media better and more easily than in Vietnamese This is a limitationthat is not easy to overcome, especially for remote schools like Trung Thanh.This makes classroom teachers think about more effective models of interaction.According to the statistics of the oral test scores of speaking skills inDecember 2020-2021 school year, the quality of English speaking skills ingrades 7A, 7B, I teach is shown as follows:
Trang 62.2.2 Infrastructure
With the requirements of educational innovation, the school's facilities areinvested and increasingly growing However, due to the lack of uniformity inprevious years, teaching facilities and equipment were lacking such as: therewas not enough picture set for the English 7 program; There are no classroomswith specific characteristics of the subject, so teachers cannot arrange tables andchairs in a learner-centered direction, stimulating student interaction orcommunication such as discussion, language games, Interview, question-and-answer and self-employment activities of individual students and teachershaving difficulty fixing the location of teaching facilities such as projectors,overhead projectors, power points to facilitate damage , take time to assemble
2.3 The solutions used to solve the problem
Speaking is an important skill in learning practical and communicativeEnglish It helps students apply the knowledge learned in books and dailyknowledge "Speaking" is the result of Listening, Reading and Writing skillscombined with language knowledge (grammar, vocabulary) The practice of thisskill must be closely coordinated with other skills and must be carried out step
by step with appropriate activities so that after each lesson, students can apply it
in specific communication situations To do that, students must memorizewords, belonging to sentence patterns The combination of textbooks andsentence patterns is necessary, but that is only the beginning Students must turn
it into their own knowledge so that they can apply it anywhere and when.Therefore, the teacher plays an important role in leading students to reach theirgoals The practice of speaking skills must be done regularly through lessons,but the main focus is during speaking hours In order to teach an hour ofspeaking practice with high results, like any other skill session, a teacher mustconduct 3 stages:
* Pre-speaking (Before speaking)
* While-speaking (While speaking)
* Post- skeaking (After speaking)
Each stage has different tasks and purposes, depending on the content andcharacteristics of each article, but at each stage I use different tactics, methodsand forms of organization Here I just outline some of the following basicmethods
2.3.1 Practice through classroom language
According to the new textbook chapter incorporating new teachingmethods, junior high school students are encouraged to use English as much aspossible depending on the subject's level In the classroom, teachers need toprovide students with opportunities to communicate in many ways: T- Wholeclass, T-S, S –S The teacher is the person who guides the children through
Trang 7conversation from simple situations of greetings to topic conversations Forexample:Beginning of the lesson:
* Good morning How are you?
* Did you have a nice weekend?
* Have you done your homework?
* Let’s play a game now, shall we?
* Are you ready?
Ask for repetition:
* Would you mind repeating…?
* Could you say it again?
* Pardon?
Asking for clarification:
* What is it? Please tell me again
* What do you mean?
* Could you explain more about ?
Ask for ideas/opinions:
* What do you think about that…(name)?
* Do you have any ideas/opinions?
* How about you?
Checking:
* Is that clear?
* Okay so far?
* Have you got it / that?
In class activities, usually the teacher should use all of English (mainlyEnglish), sometimes you have to use Vietnamese (mainly Vietnamese) andsometimes use both languages (a mixture of the two languages)
English Vietnamese Both

2.3.2 Practice speaking through grammar structure practice
Currently, many students in grades 8 and 9 have quite good vocabulary andgrammar, but are afraid to speak English during class time, do not havecommunication habits, they are not confident in communicating from simplesentences like introduction Yourself… So teachers need to create conditions forthem to practice their speaking skills in grades 6 and 7
In order to create a favorable environment for students to communicate, Ihave acted as a guide and implementation organization, flexibly combiningmany activities during teaching hours to help them think and participate inpractice floating Since then, they confidently communicate, passionately enjoylearning the subject through grammar structure practice tips in class Forexample:
