fit the structures of IELTS test.
1 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Reasons for choosing the theme
Today Vietnamese students tend to find opportunities to study and work abroad, most of them have to take part in the IELTS test with a required score
to be granted full scholarship from some of the famous schools all over the world if their scores are above 6.5 In addition, in recent years the Ministry of Education and Training has waived the foreign language test in the graduation exam class 12 when students have TOEFL, IELTS certificates So many students have taken this exam instead of the graduation exam To achieve these certificates, students must test 4 skills and the reading skill is one of the 4 indispensable skills in this exam The reading section exercise in the IELTS exam includes many different types of questions, each with only 3 to 7 or 8 questions to test learners from many different reading skills namely: Matching Headings, True False Not Given; Yes No Not Given, Matching Paragraph Information, Summary Completion, Sentence Completion, Multiple Choice Meanwhile, the exercises in the reading comprehension in English textbook 10 (10 years) are usually monotonous such as asking students to answer the questions in each unit The “Tasks” like this not only fail to test their abilities but also be easy to guess, which causes students get bored and does not help them get used to the type of IELTS reading section Moreover, almost all students have the answer keys for the reading lesson from those who studied first, which result in their laziness and inactiveness in approaching new things Weighing up the pros and cons, I have decided to spend time researching the theme:
" Modifying some tasks of reading section in English textbook 10 (10
years) to fit the structures of IELTS test" with the hope that it will become the
useful experience bringing high efficiency in teaching reading comprehension, especially for good and excellent students and stimulating the learning spirit of the average and weak in the current context Students will be familiar with the IELTS test format through the lessons in class so that they can pass this test easily and follow their wishes
1.2 The objectives of the study
The theme’s aim to redesign the types of exercises in the reading comprehension section of English textbook 10 ( 10 years) so that students will
be gradually accustomed to the question types found in the IELTS exam The subject is also an opportunity for teachers to show creativity in teaching

1 3 Scope of the study
There can be a variety of methods and tricks in teaching reading skill But in this theme, I only focus on researching how to teach reading effectively in a new approach - the "format" of the IELTS test for high school English in grades 10 according to the curriculum of English textbook 10 (10 years) that I are directly teaching
The research theme is conducted in school year 2017-2018 and academic year 2019-2020 in the 10 th grade classes (10 years)
1.4 Measures carried out
To implement the theme, I have mainly applied the following experimental methods: observation; analysis and synthesis; survey and statistics; research method
2 CONTENT
2 1 Theoretical basis
In recent years, communication-oriented language teaching is the mainstream method widely applied in foreign language lessons In other words both teachers and learners focus on English skills Learning, use, and testing are moving towards international standards through international exams such as IELTS Thereby, training for learners communication skills is considered as a basic goal in the foreign language teaching process, in which all four skills of Listening - Speaking - Reading - Writing are specially focused Reading is not simply to answer the repetitive questions that follow it in textbooks, but reading requires learners to understand the text on the basis of many types of exercises that often appear in the IELTS test Even though it is a 10-year textbook that is still new
In fact, both teachers and students are bored with reading exercises in textbooks, so they have found other suitable sources to improve their level through which they can take the IELTS test The above situation stems from many reasons, including the fact that teachers do not have appropriate methods for good and excellent students This will lead to many good and very good English students not being interested in the subjects that they have strengths Because most of these students will not find it difficult to complete tasks in the reading section of textbook Facing that situation, what will the teachers do to help these students be more interested in English? Personally, I have spent a lot
of time researching some tricks to teach reading for students, especially good students with excellently academic ability The applied trick is “Design” to

design the “Tasks” of reading part of the 10-year textbook Of course, the
"Design" of the "Tasks" must be done in a scientific way with a clear purpose and intent
2 2 Practical background
Teaching reading skills is required for each Unit in high school English But reality shows that, the English reform program in general has not met the expectations of learners and teachers Considering the reading part of English textbook 10 (10 years), we can see that the reading content as well as vocabulary are up-to-date and reasonable, but the questions have not changed, they are still
"answer the questions" good and very good students find it boring whereas bad students find it difficult to understand This not only causes boredom for students but also does not help them become familiar with the question types of the IELTS test
Before that fact, I think that we should find a new approach, which closes
to each type of the students and It is the thing that I want to redesign the tasks in reading section according to the format in the reading section of the IELTS exam with a view to teaching reading comprehension more effectively and meet the demands of the society
2 3 The solutions
Design the "Tasks" in the reading section
2 3 1 What is the meaning of designing the "Tasks" in the reading section?
It is the redesign of the form, content, and requirements of the "Tasks" in the reading section for the purpose of bringing effectiveness in teaching Reading
“Design” the “Tasks” in the Reading section needs 3 following requirements
- Must achieve the goals, knowledge and skills requirements set out in the textbook
- Must be scientific, easy to understand, easy to implement, easy to grasp
- Must be varied so that students get used to the question structure of the reading section of the IELTS test
We do not “Design” a “Task” into a new “Task”, but the new “Task” is more difficult to understand, implement and absorb than the old “Task” that
serves no purpose at all.

2 3 2 The expression "Task" is "Designed"
The “Task” that is “Designed” can be represented:
- By "handouts" distributed to students
- Write on A0, A1, A2, A3 paper
- Design on extra board available at home (Extra-board)
- Or design by POWERPOINT presentation (Contributing to increasing the attractiveness of the exercise in terms of form and easily expressing the author's intention)
2 3 3 Types of "Task" are often designed [1]
Teachers can compose each type of exercise individually or combine different types of exercises at the same time into a new "Task" in the form of IELTS test questions to enrich the lesson and develop many skills Reading differently in
one lesson.
