Thành ngữ tiếng Anh (idiom) là các cụm từ mà khi đi cùng với nhau thì sẽ tạo ra một nghĩa hoàn toàn

khác biệt so với từng từ riêng lẻ cấu tạo nên cụm từ đó

Lưu ý: Các thành ngữ thì thường không thể phân tích từng yếu tố trong phần gạch chân để đoán nghĩa,

mà bắt buộc dựa vào ngữ cảnh
