Máy tính điện tử đã được trang bị và lắp đặt cho trường Đại học Cần Thơ từ năm 1983 –
1984 Nhằm giảm công sức sao chép, tính toán và xử lý một khối lượng số liệu lớn về khí tượng thủy văn cho vùng Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long, đề tài đã xúc tiến việc lập trình máy tính APPLE II gắn bộ vi xử lý 8086 với ngôn ngữ BASIC cho mục tiêu trên
Qua thử nghiệm và chạy thử, việc lập và lưu trữ số liệu như một tập tin cơ sở dữ liệu đã được thực hiện tốt Chương trình đã biết lấy chuỗi cơ sở dữ liệu, sắp xếp và được xử lý để xác định giá trị phân bố tần suất theo hàm Log-pearson loại III Kết quả này phục vụ cho việc giảng dạy và tính toán thủy văn công trình cho vùng đồng bằng

Micro-computer has been equipped and installed for CanTho University since 1983 –
1984 In order to reduce the works for copying, calculating and handing a huge meteo-hydrological data in the Mekong River Delta, the topic has carried out to program on computer APPLE II installed 8086 microprocessor with BASIC programming language for these objectives
By testing and running, the programming and storage of data as a database have been done well Program can take the data from database file for arranging and handing to estimate a series of frequency values from Log-Pearson type III distribution function This result serves for the teaching work and calculating the engineering hydrology in the Delta
