A INTRODUCTION
Trang 3I THE REASONS FOR CHOOSING TOPIC.
It is undeniable that English plays an integral part in modern times and ithas been considered as one of 3 compulsory subjects in the GCSE by theMinistry of Education and Training for so long The mark of English exam, however, is ranked last in comparison with the other subjects according tosurvey from MOE
I have been teaching English at Thach Thanh 3 high school in which manystudents are Muong Ethnic Minority or come from remote and mountainousareas For many years, I myself have taught grade 12 students and takenresponsibility for guiding them prepare for the GCSE examination Much as Ihave tried, my students have got bad results incomparison with students fromother school in Thanh Hoa province
As far as we concerned, the Ministry of Education and training ask our provinceThanh Hoa to make efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning sothat we can be in top 20 in the stage of 2021 to 2025 In order to get goodresults, it is absolutely imperative that teachers should find best solution tohandle the problems
To meet the requirement mentioned above, teacher should pay attention to notonly good students but also bad students because they make up the largestpropotion in each class Only when the marks of the majority are improved, canthe marks on avarage be better
From the above described reason, I have applied some techniques for students
in large-scale classes namely:
"Some techniques in guiding grade 12 students in large-scale classes to prepare for the graduation exam in 2020-2021".
By carrying out this study, the researcher wishes to give a hand in improvingthe marks of students who are not good at English, then to make a considerablecontribution to fulfil the target of Thanh Hoa Department of Education andTraining ( TH DOET) in the upcoming graduation exam
Perhaps my research is certainly not perfect so I am looking forward toreceiving input from all of you
Thank you
II RESEARCH PURPOSES.
The purpose of this topic is to help grade 12 students in large-scale classeshave better understanding of tasks mentioned in the illustrated test from the
Trang 4Ministry of Education and training,to teach them the easy knowlegde (withinevery 6 out of ten points) and to guide them to practice so that they canremember the knowlegde then their English is improved and they can get goodresults in the Graduation exam.
III RESEARCH SUBJECTS.
In the year of 2020-2021, I have been taught three grade 12 classes: Class 12A1( 43 students) in which 39 students choose Maths, Physics and Chemistry ascore subjects for the Entrance Examination and their English is terrible; class12A4( 42 students) and class 12 A8( 34 students) - a class where there arestudents with the lowest level among 323 students of grade 12 at Thach Thanh 3high school In other words , my main research subjects are 103 students withlow level of English
IV RESEARCH METHODS.
The methods I have used:
- Research methodology built on theoretical basis
- Scientific research method: A method of observing the object a systematicway to gather information There are two scientific observers are observingdirect and indirect observations
- Methods of investigation: A method of teachers surveyed audience at ThachThanh 3 high school to detect characteristics and learning styles, ability to post
- Experimental methods: The teacher actively impacts on students and thecourse of the student attendance to follow objectives, their expectation
- Methods of analysis summed up the experience: As a research methodologyand review the practical achievements to draw conclusions useful for practice
B CONTENT INITIATIVE EXPERIENCE
I THEORETICAL BASIS OF THE PROBLEM.
The initiative is theoretically based on the Matrix and the illustration test from the Ministry of Education and Training introduced in late March, 2021 which I
enclose in THE APPENDIX.
II STATE OF THE MATTER RESEARCH.
The fact that teachers and students spend much time on teaching and learningEnglish, especially revising for the graduation exam cannot be denied Yet theresults are not high, even English is ranked last according to the survey fromMOE ( 4,57 on average)
And the average mark of Thanh Hoa province and Thach Thanh 3 high school
is respective 3,82 and 3,71
After a period time of teaching and learning, Thach Thanh 3 high school had amock test for all grade 12 students in late December and the results of English is
Trang 5terrible , on average , about 3,46 and here are the marks of my three classes: 12A1, 12A4, 12 A8
As can be seen from the table above, the results are not good
I myself are not so surprised at the results because of some following reasons:
- The numbers of students who can get mark 5 and higher is low.
- The majority of students canot remember the knowlegde.
- The rest choose the answer at random without looking at the paper test
To make the situation better, I have applied some techniques in teaching mystudents in the classes and I am happy that my students make a lot progress, andimportantly, they become interested in learning and spending more time to fullfil
my assignments
III IMPLEMENTING MEASURES.
1 Help students be clear about the knowledge of the 2021 graduation exam
by introducing and interpreting carefully the matrix and the illustration test from MOET.
1.1- Introduce the matrix
1.2- Introduce the illustration test from the Ministry of Education and Training introduced in late March.
2 Guide students how to learn modules and skills effectively.
I always bear in mind that my agents are neither good nor hard-working so it
is crucial that I teach carefully the cogniative knowledge and assign the tasks forthem regularly Only by this way can these students remember the lesson well
In each class, My sole purpose is how to guide students to get mark from 5 to 7and here are details of my curricula
2.1- Teach basic knowledge.
