Lesson 3: Part 1-2-3

I Objectives: By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to:

- Revise the vocabulary about things in the house

- Pronounce and distinguish the sounds in the letters /ch/, /wh/ correctly

- Express their love for their house

II Teaching aids: Laptop, speakers, pictures.

III Procedure:

A Warm-up:

- Let students play Sticky ball

B New lesson:

Activity 1 Listen and repeat

Step1: Discover the pictures: chair and where

- Look at the pictures to answer: Who’s this?

Step2: Introduce the sounds: /ch/ and /wh/

Step3: Listen and repeat:

-Play the CD and have Ss repeat each line Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored

differently in the words chair and where

-Listen and repeat

- Practice the sounds carefully

** Observation and oral comment (focus on pronunciation)

Activity 2 Listen and write

Step 1: Aims of this activity

Listen and write the word: kitchen and bathroom

Step 2: Read the sentences and guess the answers

Step 3: Listen and write

1 Where’s the book?

2 The book is on the chair

Step 4: Share ideas

Step 5: Listen again and check.

** Observation and oral comment (focus on spelling and pronunciation)

Activity 3: Let’s chant

Aims: Ss can identify about location of things in the house.

Step 1: Work in pairs: ask and answer about location of things

Cues: Where is the book?

Step 2: Play the recording

-Play the recording twice

- Chant in group

-Chant and do the action

- Call on Ss to chant

** Oral comment (rhythm, intonation, beautiful present)

- use the words and phrases that they have learnt in unit 13 to talk about location of

things in their house

- read and understand the text about a room

- express their concern about their house by drawing their bedroom and describe it to

their classmates

II Teaching aids:

- Teacher: Laptop, speakers, pictures

- Students: books, pencils, papers

III Procedures:

- Spend a few minutes revising by chanting “where’s the book?” in front of the class

- T introduces the new lesson.
