UNIT 3: WHERE DID YOU GO ON HOLIDAY?

Lesson 3: Part 1-2-3

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Identify the stress of three-syllable words: ‘motorbike, ‘underground, ‘holiday,

‘family.

- Pronounce and listen correctly the sounds

- Express their interests to English through the chant

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: Laptop Speakers

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks

III Procedure:

A Warm up:

Play game “Bingo”

- Introduce how to play the game

- Play in 2 groups

* Observation and giving feedback (T and Ss): attitude, spelling

B New lesson

Activity 1 Listen and repeat

Step 1: - Look at the words with the stress marks: ‘motorbike, ‘underground,

‘holiday, ‘family.

Step 2: - Listen to the CD and repeat

Step 3: - Some Ss to read aloud the words and sentences

** Oral: Give comments: (T and Ss): pronunciation, intonation

Acttivity 2 Listen and circle a or b Then say the sentences aloud

Step 1: - Give instruction

** Q-A: ask some questions to check understanding about the task.

- Revise the words about holiday and know some new words: last, enjoy, railway station, take a train.

- Read a passage to complete it and write the answer

- Be interesting in doing an interview

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: Laptop, Speakers.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedure:

A Warm up

- chant “Where did you go” and clap their hands.

*T observes, focus on lyrics, rhythm and pronunciation

B New lesson

Activity 4: Read and complete

Step 1: - Introduce how to do the task

Step 2: -Read the passage and complete

Step 3: - share their answers

Step 4: - T calls some Ss go to the board and write down the answer.

Lesson 1: Part 1-2-3

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Identify the vocabularies about birthday party: have a lot of fun, enjoy the party, go

on a picnic, join the funfair.

- Ask and answer questions about whether someone did something by using sentence

patterns: Did you _? Yes, I did / No, I didn’t

- Express their concern about birthday party

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: Laptop, flashcards

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures:

A Warm up:

- T asks Ss to play the game "Slap the board"

- Introduces the new lesson

** Observation and giving feedback (T and Ss): speed, accuracy.

B New lesson:

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat

Step 1: Discover the picture:

- How many people are there in the picture? Who are they?

- Where are they?

- What are they talking about?

Step 2: Listen and repeat

- T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat once or twice

- Have Ss repeat in chorus or in pairs if necessary

Step 3: Share ideas

- Focus on the structure, lead in the new lesson

- Plays the tape and asks students repeat

- T ask Ss to work in pairs

- Teach new words: have a lot of fun
