UNIT 1 WHAT’S YOUR ADDRESS?

Lesson 3: Part 1-2-3

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to

- Identify two-syllable words with the stress on the first syllable: ‘city, ‘village,

‘mountains and ‘tower correctly.

- listen and pronounce two-syllable words with the stress on the first syllable: ‘city,

‘village, ‘mountains and ‘tower correctly.

- Express students’ concern about ones’ address by chanting “Where do you live?”

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, speaker, laptop.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures:

A Warm-up

- Ask and answer the questions in Activity 5

** Oral comments: pronunciation, grammar.

B New lesson

Activity 1: Listen and repeat

Step1: Discover the words’ stress:

- How many syllable of each word?

- Read aloud them?

Step 2: Listen and repeat

- Play the recording and have Ss repeat each line.

- Introduce the stress of word

- Ss repeat in chorus or in pairs if necessary

- Practice the stress carefully

Step 3: Share ideas

- Focus on the stress of these words, lead in the new lesson

* *Quick note: Which student can’t pronounce correctly and help them to correct their mistake.

- Read and write about someone’s address.

- Express their love for their family by drawing a picture of the house

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, laptop, speakers.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures

A Warm up:

- Chant “Where do you live?” and clap their hands.

- Know the vocabularies about daily activities (brush teeth, do morning exercise, cook dinner) and some adv (always, often, sometimes, usually)

- Ask and answer questions about someone's daily routine by using sentence patterns:

What do you do ? I always/usually/often/sometimes

- Express their concern about daily routine

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: book, pictures, laptop and speakers

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures:

A Warm up:

- T asks Ss to sing a song

- Introduces the new lesson

B New lesson:

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat

Step1: Discover the picture:

- How many people are there in the picture?

- Who are they?

- Where are they?

- What’s he like?

Step 2: Listen and repeat

- T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat once or twice

- Have Ss repeat in chorus or in pairs if necessary

Step 3: Share ideas

- Plays the tape and asks students repeat
