UNIT 5: CAN YOU SWIM?

Lesson 1: Part 1-2

I Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- identify activities that people can do: swim, cook, skip, skate,….

- ask and answer questions about what someone can/ cannot do, using What can

you do? - I can ………….

- express Ss concern toward their friends by asking about what they can do

II Teaching aids :

1 Teacher’s: book, pictures, CD and computer

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedure:

A Warm up:

- have Ss play game Mining (cook, sing, dance, play football,…)

**Quick note:

- remember and identify the actions

- show their joyfulness

B New lesson

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat.

Step 1: Discover the picture:

- How many people are there in the picture?

- Who are they?

- Where are they?

- What are they talking about?

Step 2: - T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat twice.

- Have Ss repeat in chorus

Step 3: - Role play

** Oral comments (pronunciation, intonation and sentence patterns)

Activity 2: Point and say.

Step 1 Focus on the structure, pre-teach vocabulary

Vocabulary: swim, cook, skip, skate,….
