UNIT 1: NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN

Lesson 1: Part 1-2

I Objectives: After the lesson Ss will be able to:

- Identify some words: good morning, good afternoon, good evening

- Greet and respond to greetings formally

- Greet other formally

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: book, pictures, laptop and speakers

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedure:

A Warm-up

- Get Ss sing a song How are you?

- Play the recording a few time for Ps to listen and sing the song again

B New lesson:

Activity 1 Look, listen and repeat

Step 1: - identify the characters: Who are they? Where are thay?

- listen and repeat the short conversation between Miss Hien and her pupils ( twice)

Step 2: - Have Ss play role to read the dialog in groups

** T observes and gives comments (pronunciation and intonation)

** Q_A: check Ss’ understanding

2 Point and say

Step 1: - teach vocabulary: good morning, good afternoon, good evening

- Check vocabulary: T show picture -> Ss speak out

Step 2: - Look at the book and point and say

** T observes and gives comments: (pronunciation and intonation)

Step 3: Some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation

- Free practice

Step 4: - Ask Ss to work in pairs and give the greeting.

- Some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class

** Oral- feedback: T and Ss (pronunciation and intonation)

Portfolio:

- teacher passes out the paper printed the pictures and the greetings

- write the greetings down under the correct pictures.

Lesson 1: Part 3-4-5

I Objectives: After the lesson Ss will be able to:

- Revise the vocabulary

- Listen and write about the specific time of a day

- Measure student’s level of awareness of how to greet at a specific time of the day - morning, afternoon, evening

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: book, LAPTOP and speakers

2 Students’: books, notebooks

III Procedure:

A.Warm up

- Call some Ss to role- play (teacher/ students - parents/child) and

practice greeting

** Oral: T praises Ss ( well done/ good job/ excellent)

B New lesson

Activity 3 Listen and tick

Step 1: - Discover the picture by asking and answering some questions

Step 2: - Listen and complete

Step 3: - Share ideas

Step 4: - Some Ss report their answers

** Oral: Q-A to check understanding

** Observation: attitude when working in groups, pronunciation.

** Oral: Give Feedback and Q-A to check understanding about the text in listening task.

Activity 4 Look and write

Stp 1: - Discover the picture

Step 2: - Look and write

Step 3: - Share ideas

Step 4: - Some Ss go to the board and write down the answers

** Observation and written: attitude when working, spelling.

** Written: focus on spelling

Activity 5 Let’s sing:

Step 1: -Introduce the new song: Good morning to you.

- Read the lyrics

- Listen the song

Step 2: - Sing in groups: divide class into three groups and song Which group song are good, that group is the winner

** Observation: lyrics, rythm and attitude when singing.

** Oral: T ad Ss: gives comments, checklist (lyrics, rhythm, attitude and volume)

C Homelink:

- Make new song by changing the lyrics

Lesson 2: Part 1-2-3

I Objectives: After the lesson Ss will be able to:

- identify some words: good bye, good night, see you tomorrow, see you later

- say and respond to goodbye

- measure student’s level of awareness of how to respond appropriately to the

specific greeting (or saying goodbye)

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: book, pictures, laptop and speakers

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedure:

A Warm up

- Call some Ss to sing the song Good morning to you by their lyrics

** Oral- feedback (creation, pronunciation, rhythm)

B New lesson

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat

Step 1: Discover the picture:

- How many people are there in the picture?

- Who are they?

- Where are they?

- What are they talking about?

Step 2: - T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat twice

Step 3: - Role play

**Observation and Oral gives comments (pronunciation, intonation and sentence patterns)

Activity 2: Point and say.

Step 1: - Teach vocabulary: Goodbye, good night, see you tomorrow, see you later and introduce the usage of these words

- T says Goodbye and asks Ss to give responding

Step 2: - Point and say

Step 3: - T calls some pairs to speak out

** Oral: Praise Good Ss (respond correctly? Intonation)

Activity 3: Let’s talk

Step 1: Role play: give the greetings and say goodbye to others

** T observes and give feedback ( creation, communication, pronunciation)

Portfolio:

Step 2: - T passes out the paper printed the pictures and the greetings (or saying goodbye)

Step 3: - Write down the appropriate response

Step 4: Share answers

**Peer- assessment: drawing the number of smiling faces corresponding to the level.

- be interesting in learning English by playing games

II Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: book, pictures, laptop and speakers

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedure:

- Call some Ss to role- play (teacher/ students - parents/child) to give the

greetings and respond as well as say goodbye and respond to goodbye

Step 1: - T introduce the Game: Bingo

Step 2: - Draw a word grid, chooses nine words from the list on the board to copy into their grid

Step 3: -When everything is ready, call out the words, one at a time Pupils should put a cross on the word you say Continue calling until there is a pupil getting

three words n a straight line crossed out and calling Bingo!

** Oral: Praise Ss
