UNIT 17 HOW MUCH IS THE T-SHIRT?

Lesson 2 – Part 4, 5, 6

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss are able to:

- revise the vocabulary about clothes (flural): jeans, shoes, trousers, sandals

- practice listening and writing about prices of clothes (flural), using How much are

the ?

- express their concern about clothing and recognize the value of clothes

II.Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, latop, speakers, pictures.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures:

A Warm-up

- Have Ss play game Price Guess (They have to guess the price of their friends'

clothes)

B New lesson:

Activity 4: Listen and write the prices

Step1: Giving instructions

Step 2: Listen and circle

Step 3: Share answers

Step 4: Ss read the answers and give feedback

Answer: a.90,000 dong b.73,000 dong c.80,000 dong d.95,000 dong

** Q-A to check Ss’ understanding.

Activity 5: Look and write

Step 1: Give the instructions: Look at the picture and answer the questions Step 2: Do the task

Step 3: Share the answers

Step 4: Check the answer and give feedback

Step 1: Read the lyrics of the song Buying clothes

- pronounce two-syllable words with the stress on the first syllable: 'sandals,

'trousers", 'jumper and 'jacket

- listen and read the chant How much is/ are…… ?

- express their concern about clothing and recognize the value of clothes

II.Teaching aids:

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, latop, speakers, pictures.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures:

A Warm-up

- Get two groups of pupils to sing the song Buying clothes

B New lesson:

Activity 1:Listen and repeat

Step1: Discover the sentences and the stress of words

Step 2: Listen and repeat

Step 3: Share ideas

** Observaion and oral comment (pronunciation, intonation)

Activity 2: Look at the sentences and the stress marks Then listen and say the sentences aloud

Step 1: T play the CD, Ss listen and pay attention to the stress marks

Step 2: Listen and repeat

Step 3: Practice in groups

Step 4: Perform and say aloud in front of class

III Procedures:

A Warm-up

- Get two pairs of pupils to go to the front class to say the chant How much is/

are….?

B New lesson

Activity 4 Read and complete.

Step 1: Give instructions

Step 2: Read and number the correct pictures

Step 3: Share in groups

Step 4: Give feedback

Key:

On hot days a blouse, a short skirt, a red scarf and a a blouse, a pair of shorts

Activity 5 Draw three clothing items and write their prices

Step 1: Tell the students to draw clothing items and write the prices

Step 2: work individually

Activity 6 Project

Aims: Ss can ask and answer about price of clothing

Step 1: Introduce the activity

- work in groups and make 4 clothes flashcards

Step 2: Work in groups do the project

Step 3: Display the product on the wall

- Class go around to see pictures and ask about the price of those clothing

Step 4: Give feedback and complement

- show their excitement of going out

A Warm-up:

- Have Ss play Bingo game (using numbers)

- T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat once or twice
