UNIT 16 LET'S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP.

Lesson 1 – Part 3,4,5

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss can:

- Revise the vocabulary about neighborhood: bakery, bookshop, cinema,

supermarket,….

- Practice listening and writing about making and responding to suggestions to go somewhere, using Let’s go to the and

Great idea!/ Sorry, I’m busy

- Think about their own neighborhood and express their love of hometown

II Teaching aids

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, laptop, speakers.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures

A Warm up

- Greeting

- Get pupils to play Bingo, using the places in the neighborhood they have learnt (e.g bookshop, sweet shop, supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, school, park, zoo, cinema)

**Game: vocabulary, sentence pattern, pronunciation

B New lesson:

Activity 3: Listen and tick

Step1: Giving instructions

Step 2: Listen and tick

- T plays the recording twice for Ss listen to do the task

Step 3: Share answers

Step 4: Check the answer and give feedback.

Keys: 1 b 2 a 3 a 4b

Activity 4: Look and write

Step 1: Give the instructions

Step 2: Do the task

Step 3: Share the answers

Step 4: Check the answer and give feedback

** Oral comments and Q-A: to check understanding

Step 1: Read the lyrics

Lesson 2 – Part 1,2,3

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss are able to:

- Recognize the vocabulary about neighborhood and things: bakery, bookshop,

cinema, supermarket, bread, medicine, chocolate….

- ask for and give reasons for going somewhere, using Why do you want to go to

the ? > Because I want to

- Think about their own neighborhood and express their love of hometown

II Teaching aids

1 Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, laptop, speakers.

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures

A Warm-up:

- let Ss sing Let's go and lead to the new lesson

** Oral comments: song performance, pronunciation

B New lesson:

Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat

Step1: Discover the picture:

- How many people are there in the picture?

- Who are they?

- What are they talking about?

Step 2: Listen and repeat

- T plays the recording and Ss listen and repeat once or twice

- Have Ss repeat in chorus or in pairs if necessary

Step 3: Share ideas

- Focus on the structure Why do you want to go to the……….?, lead in the new lesson.

**Observation: pronunciation, vocabulary, intonation

Activity 2: Point and say

Step 1: Focus on the structure, pre-teach vocabulary:

Why do you want to go to the……….?

Ex: Why do you want to go to the bookshop? - Because I want to buy some books

Step 2: Modeling

Step 3: Point and say

Step 4: Perform in front of class and give feedback

Activity 3: Let’s talk

Step 1: Think about the place you want to go now and ask your friends to go

with you using Let's ………/ Why …………?

Step 2: Work in pairs to ask and answer

Step 3: Perform in front of class and give feedback

I Objectives: By the end of this lesson, Ss are able to:

- Practice listening and writing for asking for and giving reasons for going

somewhere, using Why do you want to go to the ? > Because I want to

- Think about their own neighborhood and express their love of hometown

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures

A Warm-up

- Ask some pupils to go to the front of the class to talk about why they want to

go somewhere (e.g I want to go to the cinema because I want to see a fi lm.)

**Oral comments:

vocabulary, sentence pattern, interaction

B New lesson:

Activity 4: Listen and circle

Step1: Giving instructions

Step 2: Listen and circle

Step 3: Share answers

Step 4: Ss read the answers and give feedback

** Oral comments:

Activity 5: Look and write

Step 1: Give the instructions: Look at the picture and answer the questions Step 2: Do the task

Activity 6: Let’s play

Step 1: Give instructions: Tell pupils that they are going to play the game Where and why to practise suggesting places to go and giving reasons

- Prepare pieces of paper with names of places and put them into a box Divide the class

into groups of three Ask two groups to go to the front Group 1 should draw a slip of paper

from the box and say Let’s go to the Group 2 should ask Why do you want to go to the ?

Group 1 then answers Because we want to After that, the two groups swap roles Then invite another two groups of pupils to the front and continue

- Listen and practice pronouncing the sounds

- Think about their own neighborhood and express their love of hometown by reading

the chant Why do you want to?

2 Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

III Procedures

A Warm-up

- Get two groups of pupils to sing the song Let's go (change the places)

B New lesson:

1 Presentation:

Activity 1:Listen and repeat

Step1: Discover the sentences and the number of syllables

Step 2: Listen and repeat

Step 3: Share ideas

** Oral comment: pronunciation, and stress of the words

Activity 2: Listen, circle and write Then say aloud.

Step 1: T play the CD, Ss listen and circle the correct answer

Step 2: Listen and write down the words Ss hear

Step 3: Share their answers

Step 4: Listen and check, and say aloud

Activity 3: Let’s chant

Step 1: Guide Ss how to chant sentence by sentence following the CD

Step 2: Practise chanting in groups
