1 Nhấn vào âm tiết thứ 1:

- Hầu hết N 2 âm tiết:

2 Nhấn âm tiết cuối:

Hầu hết V 2 âm tiết (đặc biệt nếu động từ có âm tiết thứ 2 chứa nguyên âm đôi hoặc kết thúc bằng 2 phụ âm)

3 Âm tiết thứ 2 kể từ cuối:

Tận cùng là –ic, -tion, -sion

E.g electronic, communication, decision

4 Âm tiết thứ 3 kể từ cuối:

Tận cùng –cy, -ty, -phy, - gy, -ture, -ous,, -al, -ate
