I Objectives

 By the end of lesson, students will be able to write an exposition, presenting on side of

an argument

V.Procedures:

1 Warm up (7 minutes)

- Call 3 Ss read the text about “jeans”

- Ask some questions:

+ Where does the word “jeans” come from?

+ What was the 1960s’ fashion?

+Do you like wearing jeans? Why? Why

not?

- 3 Ss read the text loudly (Others listen to them and remark.)

- Answer the question

2 Pre writing (12 minutes)

- Ask Ss to read the exercises 1 ( page 18)

- Introduce an argument should have:

-Ask Ss read the outline :

- Based on the outline A page 18, read the

passage after studying the topic and the

outline A.

- Explain some new words

- Guide Ss to read the new words

I Reading.

1 New words.

+ encourage: động viên, cổ vũ

+ equal: công bằng + bear one’s name: mang tên + freedom: tự do

+ choice : lựa chọn + self – confident: tự tin

- Repeat in chorus

3 While writing (16 minutes)

- Ask Ss read the exercise b) and use the

outline in the box to write the argument

- Ask some questions:

+ What is the topic of argument?

+ Why should secondary students wear

casual clothes?

- Call some Ss to read their writing and

correct the mistakes if there are

- Read the outline

- Compare with the partners and peer corrections

In my opinion, secondary students should wear casual clothes

Firstly, casual clothes makes Ss feel comfortable

Secondly, wearing casual clothes gives students freedom of choice They have rights to choose sizes, colors and fashion that they love.

Thirdly, casual clothes make students feel self-confident when they are in their favorite clothes

Finally, casual clothes make school more colorful and lively.

In conclusion, secondary school students should wear casual clothes Wearing casual clothes is convenient, comfortable and fun.

4 Post writing (7 minutes)

- Divide the class into 2 teams

- Give some words about 2 views of points

on agreeing or disagreeing with wearing

uniform

- Teamwork (Close books and notebooks)

- Each group puts the suitable words in the right view of point

- Which group does the fastest and correct

is the winner

1 Review the present perfect with

“already” and “yet”
