OLD LESSON:

- ask some questions about Mr.Lam activities, a

cyclo driver

morning?

5 Who’s his first passenger?

6 Does he take a long rest?

WARM-UP:

- Asks Ss some questions

Have you ever heard a frightening story?

When and where did it happen?

How did you feel about that?

- T introduces the situation Now we study a

frightening story

- Answer questions

1 A cyclo driver

2 At 6 a.m

3 Yes, he does.

4 4 passengers

5 an old man

6 no, he doesn’t He takes a short rest

- Answer questions

Yes, I have / No, I haven’t.

It happened when I was young in my neighborhood

PRE – WRITING:

- Ask student to read the narrative in task 1

- Explain some new words

Task 1:

Connectors: on that day, at first, then, just,

a few minutes later, one hour later.

WHILE - WRITING:

- Ask students to do task 2

- Explain to Ss the format of a narrative: the

- Tell Ss to work in groups and identify the

events, climax, and the conclusion of the story

- Ask them to report the results to class

- Checks (corrects)

AFTER - WRITING:

Task 3

- Ask students to keep book open

- Ask them to use the prompts to build up a

narrative about a hotel fire

- Let students work individually

- Walk round and help students

- Do task 2 in groups

- suggested answer
