The Statue of Liberty was a gift to the people of the United
States from the people of France She stands in the middle
of the harbor of New York City She is the symbol of hope
and freedom for immigrants.
- Gets Ss to look at the pictures on page 160 of the textbook and listen to the teacher’s questions
- Puts Ss some questions:
- Asks Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the questions
- Calls on some pairs to practice in front of the class
- May provide some information about The Statue of Liberty
