1 Knowledge:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will learn about:

- Vocabularies involving music topic

- Ask and answer about favorite kinds of music

- Use some of structures to talk about their friend’s music taste

- Use some strong verbs such as: like, love, really love…to express hobbies

2 Skills:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

- Ask and answer questions about music

- Talking about favorite kinds of music

- Report others’ information

V Teaching aids:

-Teacher’s: Textbook, hand out, computer, speaker

-Students’: Textbook, notebook, board, chalk, draft paper

VI Procedure:

1 Settlement: Greet the Ss

Aim: Warm up and lead in the new

lesson Revise Ss words about

music

- Give Ss pieces of music in “My

love” song of Westlife

- Aks Ss to guess the name and

composer of this song

- Introduce a poster about

Westlife

- Ask Ss some questions:

1 Do you like listening to music?

2 What kind of music do you like?

Lead in :

To talk about the kinds of music

you like, today we learn

continuously “UNIT 12- Speaking”

- Play the game Answering:

 My love

 Westlile

- Answer the question:

1 Yes, I do/ No, I don’t

2 Jazz/ pop/ classical/ rock/ folk music

Pre-speaking

Aim: Prepare for Ss some useful

words and structures using in making

conversation

- Give some words related to music

and explain the meaning

 cheer (somebody) up

 keep (somebody) happy

 be easy to listen

 make (somebody) relaxed

 make (somebody) excited

 help (somebody) forget trouble and

worries

- Listen to the teacher

Aim: Help Ss visualize the use of

paragraph in textbook page 126 Ask

all the class to listen him or her to

follow the text

- Ask Ss to work in pairs in 2 minutes

To make conversation for answering

the question

- Call some pairs to ask and answer

questions

- Give feedbacks and correct answers

- Give some structures from Task 1 to

ask and express ideas:

 What kind of music do you like?

 Why do you like it?

 Who are your favorite singer/

what is your favorite band?

 What is/ are your favorite

song(s)?

Task 2: Interviewing

Aim: Help Ss practice asking and

answering others’ question involving

somebody’s music habit fluently and

naturally

- Before Ss do the task, T asks

them to look at the first column

of table which includes 5 items

they should ask their friend

about T asks Ss what questions

they can ask if they want to

know about their friend’s

favorite kind of music , reasons

for listening to music, favorite

ban/ musician/ singer, favorite

song and when their friend

listens to music

- Give Ss some suggested

questions:

 What kind of music do you

like?

 Why do you listen to music?

 What is your favourite band/

musician?

 When do you listen to music?

- Ask Ss to work in groups of 3

people In each group one SS ask

make a conversation
