1 If + simple
present, will
future
*In these sentences, the time is the present or future and the situation is real They refer to a possible condition and its probable result.
Ex: - If I run, I ’ll get there in time
2 If + simple
past, would +
infinitive.
*Like type 1, 2 refers to the present
or future, and the past tense in the if- clause is not a true past but a
sunjunctive, which indicates unreality or improbablity.
Ex: - If I studied, I would pass the exams.
