Lesson 28: Omission of relative pronouns

A Aims

1 Objectives : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:

- Remember the use of the relative pronouns and the omission of

the relative pronouns when they functions as objects of the ordinary verbs

2 Teaching aids:

- blackboard, chalk, handouts

- textbook, lesson plan

B Procedures

I Organization

- T checks the number of students and asks Ss

to make some class arrangement

II Checking the old lesson

- T calls on one student to go to the board and

asks some questions about him/her

- T gives comments and marks

III New lesson

1 Warm- up :

Noughts and crosses

- T divides the class into 2 groups, instructs

them how to play the game

- T gets sts to play the game

- T declares the winner

2 Grammar :

Omission of relative pronouns

a Presentation

- T writes two pairs of examples about the

relative clauses on the board and asks sts to

comment on them

Eg:

- We have a lot of work which we have to do

today.

- We have a lot of work we have to do today.

- The man who I met at Lan’s party is very

friendly.

- The man I met at Lan’s party is very

friendly.

- The monitor reports the number of students in his/her class to the teacher

- answer the T’s questions

clear that: Chúng ta chỉ được phép lược bỏ
