a) Task 1 : Put the causes of population explosion

in order of importance

- Ask Ss to read through the causes provided and

order the causes and remind them to explain their

order

- Call on some pairs to present their order

b) Introduce to Ss some ways to give opinion,

agreement and disagreement

2 Body:

- The world population is distributed unevenly through regions

- Asia ranks first because it has the largest percentage of the population- 32%; East Asia –the second with 26%; Europe – third with 15% ; Latin America and Northern America – 14% of the world; Oceania – the smallest populated region with 2%

3 Conclusion - As can be seen , the greatest concentration of the world’s population is in Asia and the smallest populated region is Oceania

Expected writing:

The pie chart shows the distribution of the world population by region It can be seen that more than half of the world’s

population lives in South and East Asia South Asia is the biggest region, making

up 32% of the world population The second largest area is the East Asia with

26 % ( with 6% less than South Asia Europe ranks third with 15 %, coming next is Africa with 11 % Together, Latin America and Northern America has 14 %

of the world population Finally, Oceania

is the least populated region with the smallest percentage of 2 %

As can be seen , the greatest concentration of the world’s population is

in Asia and the smallest populated region
