Quiz : Divide the class in two groups

Prepare 6 questions before to ask the 2 groups Each group take turns to give the answer to questions they hear .If they give the correct answer , they will get one mark ,and the group giving the correct answer to this question gets three marks The group with more marks wins the game

T shows a pictures of a scape craft hidden by 4 numbered pieces

of paper Prepare these 4 questions beforehand 1.what is the missing word in this sentence?

Activity 2 :group work :

Instructions:

Open your book at page 171 and have a look at the event in the space exploration of 8 different countries

Ask ss to work in groups of four One member of each group has to read about the space exploration of one country carefully and then answer any questions that the other 3 members may ask

You have to choose the country by using a very small paper ball.All you have to do is to drop the ball on to the page 171 , and the ball falls on the country , you have to talk about that country

When you finish talking bout the space exploration of one country , move on with another oe by dropping the paper ball

Go around to help ss Take notes of ss’s mistakes for indirect correction After 7minutes , ask them to stop and give feedback on their work

Writing : using the information given in box 6 , writing a short paragraph about Pham Tuan , the first Viet Namese person to set foot on the moon

Matching game :

T photocopies page 172 to make hand outs for ss

T gives hand out to ss and ask them to face them down When all ss already have thehand outs , ask them to match the pictures with the descriptions at the bottom of the hand out The first ss who gives the exact answer wins the game Key : A- 2 ; B- 5 ; C -3 ; D- 1 ; E- 4

Lead -In :

Ask ss : What do you know about Apollo crew ?

Find the other part of your life Ask 2 ss to volunteer to play the game They should be a boy and a girl

The boy will look at the board and the girl stands behind the boy They have to stand back to back

Explain that the boy will be asked 5 questions and all he has to

do is to nod or shake his head to express his agreement and disagreement
