1 Class description: 40 students, 15 boys and 25 girls
2 Time: 45 minutes
3 Students’ level: Grade 10
4 Objectives:
After the lesson, students will be able to:
Use the words, phrase to describe a city
Make presentation on the topic “your dreamed city” based on the knowledge gained during this period
5 Assumed knowledge: Students have already known some
vocabulary items related to the topic
6 Anticipated problems:
In the Warm-up activity, the students may answer the question immediately or in a short time, so the teacher should prepare one or two extra questions
Students may not have sufficient vocabulary to talk about a city, so teacher should be ready to provide some
7 Teaching aids: Text book
8 Procedure:

(5 minutes)
Prepare 1-3 similar pieces of papers, each of which consists
of name of a city
Ask a student to go to the board and talk secretly to her the name of the city, and then ask her to describe the city
The whole class will join a game named “hanging on”
Explain the rule of the game to the whole class
Observe the class and provide structure / vocabulary if necessary
A student goes to the board
Ss listen to the T’s explanation
The rest of the class are expected join the game, guess basing on these Ss’ description
2 Dialogue Lets students skim the
dialogue in the text book to find the new words
Explains the new words to the students
Reads the dialogue as model
