I OBJECTIVES

Aims: Educate Ss to appropriate about the world population

- Guides Ss to know about the world population exactly

- Develop such reading micro-skill as scanning for special ideas and

skimming for general information

- Use the information they have read to discuss and do the exercise

* Lexical items: Words or phrases to related reading

* Skills: Reading for gist and for specific information.

II METHOD: Integrated, mainly communication

III TEACHING AIDS: Cassette, tape, textbook, lesson plan

IV Procedure:

Warm-up

- Asks Ss to answer some questions:

1.Do you think how many are world population

now?

2 What content has the largest population?

* Introduce the new lesson:

Warm-up

- Listen and answer

- Answer freely

- Listen

Before you read

- Gives some new words and explains the meaning

on the board

Estimate: sự (đánh giá, ớc lợng)

Indicate: chỉ, cho biết

Constrain: bắt ép, bắt buộc

Available: có sẵn để dùng

Cite war: nhắc lại chiến tranh

Epidemic: lan truyền nh bệnh dịch

- Asks Ss to read after the teacher some times

- Calls on some Ss to read aloud the words and

phrases

- Asks Ss to make sentences with the above words

to check their understanding

Before you read

- Copy down

- Read in chorus and individually

- Read aloud the words

- Put sentences with the above words at home

While you read

Setting the scene: You are going to read a passage

about the population on the world and then do

exercises

- Asks Ss to review reading and do exercise again

- Asks Ss to prepare the new lesson
