- By the end of the lesson, the students know more about different places in the world

- By the end of the lesson, the students are able to write about a certain place

Games: Noughts and Crosses – Geography Quiz

- Draw a square of 9 numbered boxes on the board

- divide SS into two groups, Noughts and Crosses

- Ask the groups to choose a number and answer the question

- with a correct answer, the box is marked with a 0 a X of the group If the group cannot answer it, the other group has the chance to give answers and owns the box

The first group to have 3 boxes (0s or Xs)

in a line ( across, down or diagonal) will win the game

- check SS’ understanding of instructions and let them start the game

- declare the winner

Transition: to introduce a certain place, we need to provide more information Today

- Tell SS to compare answers in pairs and then go over the answers with the class

- Ask SS to skim the paragraph again and complete the brief outline of the

description

- Tell SS to compare answers in small groups and then check with the whole class
