Lesson 1 - part 1, 2

I/ Aims:

- By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to know ask and answer the name of the days

II/ Language contents:

1 Vocabulary: Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday,Sunday, day

2 Sentence pattern: What the day is it today?  It's

3 Skill: speaking and listening

III/ Teaching aids:

Teaching plan, English 4, pictures, chalk, board, crayons.…

IV/ Procedures:

5’ 1.Warm up:

- Sing the "Where are you from?" song

- Write the day on the board and read

- Sing

- Listen and read

25’ 2 New lesson

a Look, listen and repeat

- Ask students to look at the picture in the book and ask some questions relate to this part

- Go around checking their understanding and explain

- Ask students listen and repeat after the tape

b Point and say

- Ask students to look at the pictures in the book to point to the days

- Ask them to point to each day and read aloud

- Correct their pronoun

- Drill Ss on the question and answers chorally

- Ask Ss to practise in pairs

- Go around giving help ì necessary

- Look, discuss and answer

- Ask if have trouble

- Listen and repeat

- Look and point

- Listen

- Listen and read aloud

- Listen and do

- Practise 5’ 3 Consolidation

- Ask ss what they have just been studied - Answer

- Sentence pattern: review

- Skill: listening, writing and speaking

III/ Teaching aids:

Teaching plan, English 4, pictures, chalk, board, crayons.…

IV/ Procedures:

5’ 1 Warm up:

- Ask Ss "What day is it today?"

- Guide Ss the abbreviation of days

- Answer

- Listen

25’ 2 New lesson

a Listen and tick

- Ask students to look at the pictures and then identify the content of pictures in their book

- Ask Ss to read aloud the days

- Call some students to guess before they listen

- Play the tape twice

- Ask Ss to swap their answer

- Call some students read their answer

- Play the tape again and correct

b Look and write

- Ask students to look at the table in the book and discuss in group how to do this task

- Ask Ss to do this task

- Look, discuss and answer

- Read

- Guess

- Listen

- swap

- Tell the answers

- Listen and correct

- Look and discuss

- Get them to swap their answer

- Call some students read their answer aloud

- Correct and remark

C Let’s sing

- Play the song:

+1st: students listen

+ 2nd: stop each sentence in the song and asks

sing along

+ 3rd: students sing in chorus

- Divide class into three groups and song

Which group sing good, that group is the winner

- If have time change the day and sing

- Do

- Swap

- Read and the others listen and remark
