LESSON PLAN UNIT 18: WHAT ARE YOU DOING?

Lesson 1: Part 1-2-3

I Objectives:

- By the end of the lesson sts will be able to: ask and answer questions

about one’s action in progress

II Languages focus:

+ Vocabulary: doing, reading, cooking, listening to music, cleaning

the floor

+ Sentence pattern: What are you doing? - I am reading.

III.Teaching aids:

* Teacher: textbook, board, chalk

* Students: book, notebook, workbook

1 Look, listen and repeat.

Ask Sts to identify the characters

in the picture on page 52 and what

they are saying

Set the scene “you are going to listen to Nam and Hoa ask and

answer questions about one’s action

in progress

Play the recording and ask Sts to listen to the tape

T asks Sts to listen and repeat in chorus two times

Call on one pair One repeats Nam’s part, the other repeats Hoa’s

part

Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their

pronunciation

Ask sts to guess and complete the speech bubbles

- Call pairs to practice in front of the

Allocate the parts of the characters
