UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT?

Lesson 1

I

OBJECTIVES

1 Knowledge: By the end of this unit pupils can

- Use the words, phrases related to the topics food and drink

Ask, answer questions about what someone would like to eat or drink using What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like…., please.

* Language focus:

- Sentence patterns: What would you like to eat/drink? I’d like…., please.

- Vocabulary: bowl, packet, bar, glass, carton, bottle of

2 Skills: - Develope Ss speaking and listening skills

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English with

others

- Ss can solve problems and study themselves

- Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends

II TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, flashcards or pictures, speakers, softbook,

projector and computer

2 Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

- Greetings: T- Ss greet each other

- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer

Warm up: (5’)

Play game: slap the board

3 New lesson:

Act 1 : Look, listen and repeat( 8’)

* Set the scene:

- Tell the class that they are going to read a story

about what Tony wants to do in the future

- Have them look at the pictures and elicit their

answers to these questions: Who are they?

What are they talking about?

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils

to listen and follow in their books

- Play it again for them to do choral repetition,

pointing to the characters speaking

- Have Ss to find out the new structure

- Have Ps look at the pictures Teach them how to

read the words and phrases under each picture:

- Tell the class that they are going to practise

further by asking and answering questions about

their future jobs

- Tell them to work in pairs, using the question and

Then ask a pupil to tell the class about what his/her

them practise singing and doing actions in groups

- Invite a group to sing the song and do actions in

front of the class The rest of the class claps their

hands along to the rhythm

4.Consolidation(1’)-Ask Ss to focus on the model sentence once again.
