I OBJECTIVES

1 Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to listen and write specific information about what animals did in the zoo

* Language focus:

- Sentence Pattern What did the do when you were there? They

- Vocabulary: Revise the past simple forms of the verbs: roar (roared), move (moved) and eat (ate), and teach the adverbs…

2 Skills: - Develope speaking and listening skills.

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English

II TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, flashcards or pictures, softbook, projector

(5A, 5B), computer and speakers

2 Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

IV PROCEDURE

1.Organization:(1’)

- Greetings: T – Ss greet each other

- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer

2 Warm up: (5’)

- Play Charade Game: Zoo animals

- Ss play into 3 groups T & Ss praise the winners

3 New lesson:

Act 1 Listen and circle a or b.(10’)

a Pre-listening: T looks at the books and

sets the scence:

How many sentences are there

- Tell the class that they are going to listen

and circle a or b

- Ask them to read the questions and guess

the answers Check their understanding

b While-listening:

- Play the recording all the way through for

them to listen Play it again for them to do

the task

- Get them to compare their answers in

pairs before checking as a class

c Post listening:

- Play the game: Musical box

Act 2 Write about your visit to the zoo.

a Pre-writing:

- Remind the class that they should write

about things that really happened to them

- Have pupils read the questions and check

their understanding

- Set a time limit for them to do the

- Tell pupils that they are going to play

- Divide the class into Team A and Team

B Stick a large sheet of paper on the board

with the following words written on it:

slowly, noisily, quickly, loudly, quietly and

beautifully Explain how the game is

played Set a time limit The two teams

take turns to mime and ask questions The

team that gets more points wins

Language note: For adjectives ending in

-y, we change the -y into -i before adding

-ly

(e.g noisy - noisily)

- Word stress: when, go, went, yesterday, tigers, do, there, roared, loudly

2 Skills: - Develope Ss listening & speaking skill

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English,to have a

good method of learning English

- Ask Ps to look at the text and pictures , ask some

questions

? What’s this? Is it a letter? Who writes the letter?

Who gets the letter?

- Tell the class that they are going to read the text and

match the sentences with First, Then, Next and In the

end.

- Get them to read the sentences and then read the text

to find out their order

b While- reading:

- Set a time limit for them to do the task

- Have them swap and compare their answers before

- Set a time limit for them to do the task individually

Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary

- Remind them to write the first letter of the word

beginning each sentence and the names of people in

capital letters, and put commas or full stops in the

appropriate places

- Get pupils to swap and read their writing in pairs

before inviting two or three pupils to read their

answers aloud

c Post writing

- Have Ps display and read

Act 3 Project: (5’)

- Tell the class that they are going to draw their dream

zoos Ask them to work in groups of five to discuss

what animals to put in their dream zoos and who

should draw which animal

- Set a time limit for them to do the task

- Sentence Patterns: When will…be? – It’ll be on…

- Vocabulary: look for, Sport day, gym, take part in, Independence day,Children’s day, table tennis, singing contest, festival.

2 Skills: - Develope Ss speaking and listening skills

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English with

others, tobe studious and obedient
