Lesson 1 Part 4 + 5+ 6

I OBJECTIVES

1 Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to use the words and phrases related to the topic school events and future activities

- Ask and answer questions about using when will be? It’ll be on

- Cheking the oral test.( Part III Speaking)

* Language focus:

- Sentence Patterns: When will…be? – It’ll be on…

- Vocabulary: look for, sport day, gym, take part in, independence day, children’s day, table tennis, contest, festival

2 Skills: - Develope Ss’listening and writting skill

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English.

II TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, speakers, softbook, projector (5A, 5B) and

computer

2 Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

III METHOD

- Communicative approach

Techniques: + Game: Roleplay

+ Work individually, in pairs/ groups

1.Organization:(1’)

- Greetings: T – Ss greet each other

- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer

2 Warm up: (5’) Role play

- Spend a few minutes having the class revise the story in Activity 1

- Invite one or two pairs to act it out

- T & Ss listen and give comments T praise the better

3 New lesson:

Act 1 Listen and match (10’)

a Pre-listening:

- T looks at the books and sets the scence:

How many pictures are there?

Who are they?

What’s he/she doing?

- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and

draw lines to match pictures 1-3 with

pictures a-c

b While-listening:

- Play the recording all the way through

for Ps to listen Play it again for them to

do the task

-Tell them that they should pay attention

to the activitiesand the school events

- Get them to swap and compare their

answers before checking as a class Play

the recording again to confirm the

answers Go around and offer heip, if

necessary

c Post listening:

- Role-play

- Give them a few seconds to read and do

the task If necessary, get them to work in

* Set the scene:

page 66(Student book 1) to lead Ss in

the conversation

- Ask students to look at the 4 pictures

in the book and elicit

T: Who are the pupils? Where are

they? What are they doing ? What are

they talking about?

- Play the recording all the way

through for Ss to listen and follow in

their book

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat

the text several times.( line by line in

Pass the secret

- Tell the class that they are going to play the

game Pass the secret!

- Explain how the game is played Tell the class

that they are divided into seven groups

-Ask Ss to line up in rows Whisper a sentence

to the first Ss in each row The first ss then

whispers the sentences to the secons one, and so

on The last ss in rows say aloud the sentence

he/she heard If the sentence correect, the team

wins one point The team with the most points

at the end of the game is the winner

words, listen and undrelined the stressed words

- Cheking the oral test.( Part III Speaking)

- Do the chant “What are they going to do?

*Language focus:

- Vocabulary: volleyball, hard, everyone, event, hope, win, competition

- Word stress: When, sports, day, be, Saturday, what, going, do, play, football.

2 Skills: - Develope Ss listening & writing skill.

3 Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English.

the sentence stress

- Play the recording all the way through for

the class to listeen and follow in their books

- Play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a

few time Then put the words on the board,

play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few

more times After that, write the sentences on

1 Listen and repeat.

Ps say the sentences , paying attention to the

target sounds

- Do choral and individual repetition of the

sounds, words and sentences until Ps feel

confident

- Get some Ps to perform in front of the class
