- Diễn tả một thói quen ở hiện tại

c.Cách nhận biết:

Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian thường dùng trong thì hiện tại đơn giản

- In the morning/ afternoon/ evening…

- Every day / morning/ afternoon / evening / week / month / year / Monday ….summer …

- Often, usually, always, sometimes, once / twice / three times a week /

- on + ( thứ trong tuần ) + s on Sundays

- Dùng trong câu điều kiện loại 1, mệnh đề chỉ thời gian sau " as soon as / when "

d Cách thêm " s / es " vào sau động từ ở ngôi thứ 3 số ít:

Thông thường chúng ta thêm " s " vào sau mỗi động từ

VD: visit -> visits

listen -> listens

Ngoại trừ:

- Những động từ có tận cùng bằng " s / x / ch / sh / z " -> chúng ta thêm " es "VD: watch -> watches

miss -> misses

- Những động từ có tận cùng bằng " y " và trước " y " là một phụ âm ( tức trước " y

" không bao gồm các nguyên âm ( u,e,o,a,i ) ) -> chúng ta đổi " y " thành " i " rồi thêm " es "

c Cách nhận biết :

-Các trạng từ chỉ thời gian thường dùng trong thì quá khứ đơn giản

+ yesterday, yesterday morning / afternoon/ evening

+last night / week / month / year

+last + thứ trong tuần : Monday, Tuesday …

+last + mùa trong năm: summer …

+in + năm : 1978, 2008 …

+khoảng thời gian + ago ( a week ago, two days ago ….)

d Cách thêm đuôi " ed " vào sau dộng từ:

- Thông thường, chúng ta thêm " ed " vào sau mỗi động từ

VD: worked, missed, wacthed, played,

- Ngoại trừ:

+ Những động từ có tận cùng bằng " e " , thì ta chỉ thêm " d "

VD: liked, arrived, love, hoped,

+ Những động từ có tận cùng bằng " y " và trước " y " là một phụ âm, thì ta đổi " y

+ Những động từ hai âm tiết có tận cùng bằng một nguyên âm ở giữa hai phụ âm

và trọng âm rơi vào âm cuối thì ta gấp đôi phụ âm cuối rồi thêm " ed "

VD: preferred, permitted,

e Cách đọc đuôi động từ ở thì qúa khứ với đuôi “ed”.

- ed được đọc là / t/ khi động từ nguyên thể có âm tận cùng là / f /, / k /, / p /, / s/hoặc chữ cái tận cùng là “ch” hoặc “sh”

VD: laughed, asked, helped, pushed, dressed, produced, watched , played, listened,

- ed được đọc là / id / khi những động từ nguyên thể có chữ cái tận cùng là / t /

và /d/

VD: needed, wanted, waited, invited, added, …

- ed được đọc là / d / khi những động từ nguyên mẫu là các âm còn lại

VD: enjoyed, lived, filled, seemed ,
