2 Warm up (5’)
Activity: Guessing game
- T divide the class into 2 teams, A and B
- T calls Ss come to the board
- Whisper one of the target vocabulary words (dog, drum, dragon,…) to him/her.
- Without speaking, the student draws a picture of the word on the board
- The first team to guess the word wins a point
- Repeat the activity with as many students as necessary
- T monitor and coreect their mistake
3 New lesson ( 30’ )
Activity 6 Circle the pictures of the words
that start begin with the same sound (10’)
- T use the phonics card to elicit the pictures
starting the /æ /, /b/, and /d/ sounds.
- T ask Ss to circle the pictures of the words
that begin with the same sound

- T monitor and pride the winer

- T put a set of phonics cards on the board plus an ‘odd’ one from another set
- T point to each card in turn and say the word for the class to repeat in chorus
- Take away the odd card from the board
- Repeat as many times as necessary

Activity 1 Trace and say (Activity Book) (5’)

- Demonstrate how to write the big D by stroke
- Draw an example of letter D using dashed lines
- Use a different colored chalk to model tracing
the letter D
- Have some students practice tracing letter D on
the board
- Have students trace letter D in the books

pictures and colour them then match the pictures
to the correct sentences below
