I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to introduce family members and meet someone politely

Vocabulary: brother, sister.

Structures: This is my (brother).

Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you, too.

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

+ Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector /TV + Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

III Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

1D Thursday, October 1st 2020

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: “Clap or Jump”

- T calls out a letter sound or a word with that letter

- T asks Ss to stand up and clap if they hear the ‘a’ sound or jump if they hear the ‘b’ sound

3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity A Listen and point Repeat (8’)

- T asks Ss to listen to each new word

- Ss listen to each new word

- T asks Ss to listen to each new word and repeat

all together and individually

- Ss listen to each new word and repeat all together

- T corrects Ss’s pronunciation if necessary.

- T arrange the flashcards on the board, play the

CD and asks Ss to listen and point at the pictures

in their books

- T plays the CD again and asks Ss to listen, repeat

several times

- T change the order of the flashcards, point at

them individually and asks Ss to say the words,

correct pronunciation when needed

- T asks Ss to work in pairs, one points at the

Ss are not looking

- T calls out a number and asks Ss to take turns

guessing the face down card

*Activity B: Listen and point (8’)

- T introduce the situation, point at each person in

the picture and asks Ss to call out the words

“father, mother, brother, sister”

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to look at the picture

- T demonstrate by pointing at "father", "mother",

"sister", "brother" in the picture

- T plays the CD again and asks Ss to listen and

repeat

- T plays the CD again and asks Ss to listen, point

- T point at each picture and asks Ss to call out the

words

- T calls some Ss demonstrate in front of the class

*Activity C Play “Board race” (6’)

- T asks Ss to race to the board, touch that

flashcard, and say the correct sentence

*Activity “Whispering and Writing”(4’)

- T asks Ss to make 2 lines

They do the same and the word is whispered to the

2 Ss at the front of the lines

- The 2 Ss at the front of the lines write the words

on the board

back of the lines

- T repeats the activity with other words

- Learn by heart the word “brother, sister” and sentences parterns.

*Activity: True or False Line.

- T draws a line on the floor

- On one side of the line write True and on the other side False

- T asks Ss to stand on the line when the teacher holds up a card and says a word

E.g brother (They then stand on the true or false side of the line If they make a

mistake they come back to their seat)

3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity D 1 Listen to the story (8’)

- T asks Ss to look at the picture Point to each

person in the pictures and asks Ss to calls out the

people they see

- Ss to look at the picture

- T play the CD and asks Ss to look at the picture

and people

- Ss to look at the picture and people

- T demonstrate the activity by pointing at the

speech bubbles

- T asks Ss to listen, point and read

- Ss to listen, point and read

- T point at each person in the picture and asks Ss

to say "Hello Vinh/ Bobby/ Ms Betty/ "
