UNIT 7: NUMBERS Lesson 1: Part A, B, C

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of this lesson, students will be able to count

Vocabulary: one, two, three.

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

+ Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector /TV + Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

III Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: Sing and Dance

- T play “Animals” song (from YouTube) and make gestures following the lyric and asks Ss to stand up and make the gestures

3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity A: Listen and point Repeat (8’)

- T arrange the flashcards on the board

- T plays the CD and asks them to listen and point

- T the CD again and asks Ss to listen, repeat

- T say the word and do the gestures/ sounds

Ex: one

*Activity: " Heads up What's missing?" (5’)

- T divide the class into two teams

- T arrange the flashcards on the board and remove

one card when students are not looking

- One student from each team calls out the missing

flashcard

*Activity B Listen and point (7’)

A Listen and point Repeat

a Vocab one: số 1 two: số 2 three: số 3

- T introduce the situation, point at each person

in the picture and have students call out the

words “one, two, three”

- T play the CD and and ask Ss to look at the

picture

- T demonstrate the activity by pointing at "one",

"two" , “three” in the picture

- T plays the CD again and asks Ss to listen and

repeat

- T plays the CDagain and asks Ss to listen and

point

- T point at each picture and have students call out

the words again “one, two, three.”

*Activity C Sing (5’)

- T asks Ss to turn to page 44

- T read the lyrics as a whole class

- T play the CD and asks Ss to listen

- T play the CD again and asks Ss to listen and

sing along

*Activity “Listen and clap” (5’)

- T says numbers

- Ss clap their hand once if they hear “one”, twice

if they hear “two”, and three times-“three”

C Sing.

Play game

V Summary:

- Learn by heart the word “one, two, three”.

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: Count and stand up

- T asks Ss to count “one, two, three” in row and ask them to remember their number

- T say a number and have all students with that number stand up

- Repeat the activity in such a way that each student counts a new number

3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity D Point and count (10’)

- T divide the class into pairs

- Demonstrate the activity with a student using

numbers “one, two, three” and pointing at the

pictures (cat, dog, book….)

- T call student A point and Student B count

- Swap roles and repeat

- Check answers as a whole class, then count the

objects as a whole class

- Have some pairs demonstrate the activity in

front of the class

*Activity E Play “Board race” (10’)

- T ask Ss to look at the example

- T divide the class into teams and have one

student from each team stand a distance from the

board

- Stick two flashcards on the board and then say

one of them

- T asks Ss to race to the board, touch that

flashcard, and say the correct word

- The first student to touch the flashcard and say

the word gets a point for their team

- Continue with other Ss

- T hold up a flashcard and ask Ss to call out the

number

- T count out loud “One, two, three.” as you clap

D Point and count.

E: Play “ Board race ”

- T asks Ss to repeat with different numbers and

call out the number of claps

- T say a number and asks Ss to count, clap
