2 Warm up (5’)
- T divide class into two teams (the students can choose their team’s name)
- Give each team the same numbers of flash cards about what they have learned in previous lessons (5 or 6 cards)
- Give the students time to remember their pictures (1minute)
- Each team select one Ss to come to the board and draw all the pictures in their team
- Set the time for the student to draw
Which team has the most correct pictures will win and get a small gift from the tea

- Use gestures (hand actions) to help
students to understand the meanings of the
three words (ink: imitate writing with a pen,
igloo: mime being cold, iguana: make a
lizard’s head with hand and move it left and
right quickly)
- Call some students to say the words out
loud and correct their mistakes (if any)
*Activity: Sit and Stand Game (3')
- Show the 3 phonics cards one by one For
example, show the card with ink, but
incorrectly say igloo or iguana, the students
will stand; if the words are correctly said,
they will stay sitting
- Do the same procedure for the other two
cards
- Give feedback
Activity 2 Listen and point Choose (7’)
- T asks Ss to look at the screen and listen to
the words: Oh no, my ink Oh no, my igloo.

- T asks Ss to point to the correct object
when they hear the words from the CD
- T asks Ss to listen and repeat the words for
several times
- T give feedback
*Acting out game: optional (3')
- Says the words ink; the students do the
gestures following teacher’s talk (not
teacher’s action)
- Continue with the other words
- Students who do incorrectly have to sing
or dance or do any other requests

- Use the phonics cards on the board and
have the students sing the chant with ink

igloo” and ask Ss to repeat

- T play the CD again for Ss sing and do
corresponding actions
- T put the phonics cards face up on the
table/stick them on the board
- T give Ss a minute to look at the cards
- T ask Ss to close their eyes and then teacher
read one word of the card
- Tell the students to open their eyes and point
to the card with the word teacher read
