REVISION – DO EXERCISES

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to consolidate the sound of the letters

Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh and the corresponding words

- Learn and practise reading skills and sing a song

Vocabulary: review

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to consolidate the sound of the letter Ee, Ff, Gg, Hh and the

coresponding words

II Teaching aids:

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work

- Some techniques can be used: Bingo

IV.Procedures:

1 Organization:

1D Wednesday, February 13th 2019

2 Warm up (5’)

- T divide class into two team

- T give Ss time to write down as many letters as possible they studied in unit 5-8

- The team with the most correct letters wins

3 New lesson (30')

- T ask Ss to say the letters and name the

items and put a tick () into the pictures

that correspond to each letter

- T go around to provide any necessary

help and ask individual students to say out

the letter, the sound and the item

- T ask Ss to name the items, the letters

and the sounds

- T ask them to draw a line to match the

big and small letters with the pictures

2 Warm up (5’)

Activity: Guess

- T divide the class into two teams, A and B

- T ask a student from one team to come to the board

- Whisper one of the vocabulary words (from unit 9-13) to the student

- Without speaking, the student act out by gesturing

- The first team to guess the word correctly wins a point

- Repeat the activity with a student from the other team

- The team with more points wins the game

3 New lesson (30')

Activity 1: Colour the pictures that start with

- T elicit the letters and their sounds:

E.g letter E says /ɪ/

- Point to each picture and elicit the letter:

E.g E - /e/- elf

- T ask Ss to colour in the pictures

- T go around the classroom to provide any

necessary help

Activity 2: Colour the pictures that start with

- T elicit the letters and their sounds

E.g letter F says /f/

- Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the

sound and the name of the item:

E.g F - /f/- fish

1 Colour the

pictures that start with the /e/ sound

2 Colour the pictures that start with /f/ sound

- Ask the students to colour in the pictures

- T go around the classroom to provide any

necessary help

Activity 4: Colour the pictures that start with

- T elicit the letters and their sounds

E.g letter H says /h/

- Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the

sound and the name of the item

E.g H- /h/- hat

- Ask the students to colour in the pictures

- T go around the classroom to provide any

necessary help

- T divide class into two teams

- Write the letters or the sound from U5-8 on

the board into two column for two teams

- Mix the phonics cards of these sounds

- Ask Ss from each team to put the phonics

cards into the corresponding sounds on the

board

3 Colour the pictures that start with /g/ sound

4 Colour the pictures that start with /h/ sound
