UNIT 6: ACTIVITIES Lesson 1: Part A, B, C

I Objective:

1 Language focus:

- By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to talk about their abilities

Vocabulary: swim, sing, run.

Structures: I can (run).

2 Skill:

- Listening, speaking, reading, writing

3 Attitude:

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary

II Teaching aids:

+ Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector /TV + Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook.

III Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work

IV Procedures:

1 Organization:

1B Monday, January 11th 2021

1D Thursday, January 14th 2021

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: “What animal is it?”

- T shows a flashcard only to a student who then mimes the animal he/ she sees on it

- T asks Ss to guess the animal

- Ss repeat the activity with other flashcards

3 New lesson (30’)

Teacher - Students’ activies Content

*Activity A: Listen and point Repeat (8’)

- T arrange the flashcards on the board

- T plays the CD and asks them to listen and point

- T the CD again and asks Ss to listen, repeat

- T say the word and do the gestures/ sounds

Ex: cat- meow

*Activity: "Heads up What's Missing?" (5’)

- T divide the class into two teams

A Listen and point Repeat

a Vocab swim: bơi sing: hát run: chạy b.Sentence paterns

I can (run).

- T arrange the flashcards on the board and remove

one card when students are not looking

- One student from each team calls out the missing

flashcard

*Activity B Listen and point (7’)

- T asks Ss some questions about the pictures

e.g “What can you see in the picture? What is

this? Where is the girl? ”

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures

- T demonstrate the activity by pointing to the new

vocabulary items

-T play the CD again and asks Ss to listen and

point

- T point at each picture and asks Ss to say the

sentences “I can … swim, run, sing.”

*Activity C Sing (5’)

- T asks Ss to turn to page 68

- T read the lyrics as a whole class

- T play the CD and asks Ss to listen

- T play the CD again and asks Ss to listen and

sing along

*Activity “ Listen and mime” (5’)

- T asks Ss to stand up

- T give commands “sing/run/swim”

- T asks Ss to listen and mime the activities

- T asks Ss to play the role of the T and repeat the

activity

B Listen and point

C Sing.

Play game

V Summary:

- Learn by heart the word “swim, run, sing” and sentences parterns.

- Book, CD, phonics cards, paper including the lyrics of the chant

III Method:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work

IV.Procedures:

2 Warm up (5’)

*Activity: “Sing.”

- T play audio Part C and asks Ss to sing the song

- T calls some Ss to sing in front of the class

3 New lesson (30’)

*Activity D Point and say (8’)

- T divide the class into pairs

- T calls student A point to the picture and

Student B say

e.g “I can run.”

- T swap roles and repeat

- T calls some pairs demonstrate the activity in

front of the class

*Activity: Look and say (7’)

- T show a flashcard to the class

- T asks Ss to practice the structure using the new

word

- T asks Ss to repeat with other flashcards

e.g Teacher shows flashcard "swim"

Class: "I can swim"

*Activity E Play “Pretend” (8’)

- T asks Ss look at the example

- T asks Ss come to the front of the class

- T asks Ss to do an action silently

- T asks Ss to try to guess the action

- T asks Ss to work in pairs, one does actions and

the other guesses Then have them swap roles and

repeat

D Point and say.

E: Play “Find the color”

- T calls some pairs demonstrate the activity in

front of the class

*Activity: “ Listen and point” (7’)

- T write the vocabulary + structures in different

areas on the board

- T says a word or a sentence (written on the

board)

- Ss use their fingers to point at the word or the

sentence on the board and say it loudly
