2 Warm up (5’)
Activity: Form a line game
- Put up the phonics cards on the board
- Have 3 student volunteers
- Hand out the pieces of paper to the students
- T says: Form a line; then Ss line up in front of the board in the same order as the phonics cards
- Repeat the procedure with another group of students
3 New lesson
Activity 6 Listen and tick (ü) (10’)
- T point to the letters and revise the sounds
- T explain the activity
- T play the CD
- T ask Ss to listen and tick the correct letter
sound
- Go around and provide any necessary help

- Put a line of masking tape on the floor and designate one side True and the other False
- Hold up a phonics card, e.g egg and say: egg Then students jump on the True side
- Hold up another phonics card, e.g elf and say: ant Then students jump on the False side
- The students who end up on the wrong side sit out until the next game
3 New lesson
Activity 1 Trace and say (Activity Book) (5’)
- let’s Ss revision of letter E, its sound
- T write on the board the big E and small e
- Point to the letter E and say out loud “This is
the letter E.
- Point to the letter e and say out loud “This is
the letter e
- Have the class repeat its sound chorally, then
individually
- Have the students say the sound individually,
correct the pronunciation if necessary
Activity: How to write letter E (5’)
- Demonstrate how to write the big E by stroke
- Draw an example of letter E using dashed

- Use a different colored chalk to model
tracing the letter E
- Have some students practice tracing letter E
on the board
